🎾🏀🐾 Sometimes, a racket and a tennis ball can mean so much more than a game.

Last week at Saturday Hoops, more than 10 kids picked up a tennis racket for the very first time. They played, smiled, encouraged each other and got to experience something they may never have had the chance to try. ❤️

That moment hit differently for me.

Recent flooding and sewage destroyed nearly all of my coaching equipment: tennis balls, rackets, my ball machine, portable net, hopper, resistance bands and court lines. Years of equipment used to help kids learn and fall in love with tennis were gone in a day.

But the equipment was gone. The mission wasn’t.

I found old rackets (even ping-pong paddles), borrowed what I could and made do. Then generous players, coaches and staff at the Cincinnati Open from the WTA and ATP donated tennis balls to Penny, not knowing what we’d use them for. But I had an idea… and we were back on the court. Coco Gauff said let us all know what Penny does with her balls so this was it🎾❤️

Watching these kids open those balls, jump up and down and take their first swings was something I’ll never forget.

They didn’t see what I had lost.

They saw a racket.
They saw a ball.
They saw an opportunity. ❤️

And Penny was living and loving for every moment of this. 🐾 She walked beside the kids, played fetch, listened to them read and brought comfort, joy and pet therapy to the day.

This is why I coach.

Because sometimes giving a child one ball, one racket and one chance can remind them that they matter and that they’re capable of more than they realize.

I matter.
I control my destiny.
And I AM going to make this world a better place. ❤️

If this story touches you, please give this it a like, follow Penny, and share it. Every share may help us rebuild the equipment and opportunities needed to keep putting rackets in kids’ hands.

One child. One racket. One ball. One act of kindness at a time. 🎾🏀🐾❤️

Had the opportunity to volunteer with the Saints family at @saturdayhoops , and honestly, it meant a lot to be able to pour into some of these kids.

We ran them through agility drills, challenged them to compete, and most importantly, showed them that fitness can be fun. There’s something powerful about watching kids push themselves, compete with their peers, and learn that getting better isn’t about being better than someone else — it’s about becoming better than you were yesterday.

And yes… I cut my finger dunking while trying to show off. 😂 32 years old and apparently still got it. Worth it.

This is what fitness is about to me. It’s not just about what happens inside a gym or what you can do for yourself. It’s about using what you’ve learned to impact the people around you and create positive experiences for the next generation.

Saints is committed to being a positive force in the community, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of something bigger than ourselves.

Huge shoutout to Saturday Hoops for giving us the opportunity to serve, compete, and pour into these kids. 🙌🏾🏀

🏆 SATURDAY HOOPS MVP 🏆

Some days, the basket looks bigger than everyone else.

Brady Keeton put together one of the most memorable performances of the 2026 Cincy Alumni Challenge, leading Oak Hills Alumni to the biggest upset of the day with a lights-out shooting display against La Salle Alumni.

🔥 21 Points
🎯 7 Three-Pointers

Keeton simply couldn’t miss.

The dynamic guard buried shots from all over the floor, stretched the defense with his shooting, and played with complete confidence from start to finish. Just as impressive, he took care of the basketball, never forcing the action, keeping his poise in big moments, and making the right play all game long.

Most importantly, he looked like he was having a blast out there competing with the boys and representing Oak Hills.

What. A. Game.

Congratulations to Brady Keeton, our Game 4 Saturday Hoops MVP.

🏆 SATURDAY HOOPS MVP 🏆

Michael Davenport reminded everyone exactly why he’s one of the most accomplished players to come through Moeller.

Leading the Crusaders to a hard-fought victory over Lakota East Alumni, Davenport delivered a complete performance and earned Saturday Hoops MVP honors.

🔥 26 Points

Whether it was attacking the rim, knocking down jumpers, or creating offense from beyond the arc, Davenport simply could not be stopped. He scored at all three levels, controlled the pace of the game, and got whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.

As impressive as he was offensively, his impact on the defensive end may have been even bigger. Down the stretch, Davenport was a menace defensively, making winning plays and helping Moeller close out one of the most competitive games of the day.

A true pro. A true leader. An MVP performance.

Congratulations to Michael Davenport, our Game 3 Saturday Hoops MVP.

Donald was relentless from the opening tip, attacking the basket at will, finishing through contact, and turning hustle plays into easy points in transition.
