The night before: an empty table.
By morning: CHFA Toronto. 🧡

We showed up this year as part of the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture and Food’s BC Pavilion, standing alongside a strong group of fellow independent B.C. food and beverage brands.

Seven years in, this is still where the magic happens — in the demos, the markets, the trade shows like this one: watching someone taste Pili Pili drizzled onto popcorn for the first time, answering questions on the spot, and standing next to other founders who get exactly what it takes to build something from scratch.

Swipe through the samples, the chaos, and the people who made this show what it was. 🫶

Established 2018. Still growing. Still showing up.

Oh, you know, just saving da sea.

(And yes, the cream cheese is vegan, too.)

Maybe the best plant-based bagel, lox and cream cheese I’ve tasted, on a toasted @boichikbagels pumperthingel bagel.

🔥Wowowowowowow🔥

I have long been a fan of the Save Da Sea Carrot Lox (seen many times in my stories about snacky snacks I've been enjoying) but did you know that they now have a Carrot Lox Creamy Cashew Spread??

[#Media]
Thank you so much @savedasea for gifting this spread to try out for the first time along with a box of the carrot lox!
I paired the spread with some go-to pita crackers in this photo but I also really enjoyed the spread with thickly sliced cucumbers. Super refreshing! The bits of carrot lox, combined with dill and the creaminess that cashews bring to this spread make this the ultimate healthy, yummy snack. I'm gonna have to have this on hand all the time now just like how we always have a stash of the carrot lox in the fridge at all times 😅🤭

Have you tried any Save Da Sea products? What are your favourites and how do you like to eat them?

Meet @savedasea! So stoked to have them join us at Circle V 2026, where founder Aki be sharing their tasty and versatile seafood alternatives. Have you tried their plant-based salmon and tuna?

SAVE DA SEA
Save Da Sea is a woman-owned company from Victoria on the west coast of Canada, a place renowned for seafood. Their products are made from simple ingredients including a smoked salmon alternative made from carrots and a ‘tuna’ salad made from jackfruit. Other ingredients include locally sourced bull kelp, flax oil for Omega-3s and protein from chickpea and faba protein.

Save Da Sea’s founder, Aki Kaltenbach, started the company while she was working for her family’s Japanese restaurant. She had become vegan and was looking for seafood alternatives and couldn’t find any and created her own options. Her products can be found in stores across the Pacific Northwest including @marketofchoice, @metmarket, @pccmarkets and @wholefoods.

@savedasea reached out to us to see if we’d be interested in trying some of their products, and of course, we were!

I had the day off and Diana was at work, so I went it alone on this one. I grabbed a loaf of @nelsontheseagull House Loaf, loaded it up with @violifeca cheese, tomato, pickles, and Save Da Sea, and had myself one hell of a lunch. 🤤

Have you tried Save Da Sea products? What did you think? #vegan #vegantuna #veganforanimals #veganreview #vancouvervegan

Last year was the first time we invited food makers to join us at Circle V Portland. Y’all enjoyed this new addition so much, we’re doing it again for Circle V 2026 on Sunday, September 20! Get your tickets at circlevportland.com (link in bio)

Enjoy small bite samples, chat with the makers, and learn more about their offerings. Some food makers will have items available for sale at the event, while others can point you to local grocery stores that carry their products. PS. @marketofchoice carries several of them.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll share more about the food makers participating in Circle V 2026!
