You can’t end every crisis.
But you can end someone’s.

When severe illness and malnutrition left Musa* weak and vulnerable, his mother Fatima* brought him to a stabilization centre run by @savethechildrenng.

There, with support from the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund, Musa received life-saving treatment, nutrition support and the care he needed to regain his strength.

Today, Musa is smiling and thriving.

When humanitarian needs are overwhelming, it can be hard to believe one contribution matters.
But it does, one life at a time.

What do we mean by long-term social value?

Last week our Executive Director, @batoolis, joined the Gulf Philanthropy Forum in Abu Dhabi, to speak about Meem Foundation’s approach to impact and sustainability.

Social change requires more than measuring outputs. It requires sharing outcomes and impact at a community level. And beyond measurement, it requires organisations to have a learning culture and continuously improving how they serve communities.

Thank you to @thepearlinitiative for organising the forum and to fellow practitioners and speakers @savethechildren_int, @un_ocha, @thomsonreuters

Through Education in Emergencies and Early Recovery Support For Children in Gaza Strip and West Bank Programme, In cooperation with UNESCO, Save the Children International And Education Cannot Wait (ECW) every child deserves a space where they can feel connected and supported.

In Gaza, learning spaces provide children with opportunities to build new friendships, express their feelings and spend meaningful time with their peers.

Alongside learning, psychosocial support activities help create an environment where children can feel heard, valued and encouraged to take part.

Because supporting children means supporting both their learning and their wellbeing.

📚🏫 For teachers in Gaza, play-based learning, edutainment, and interactive learning have transformed how they teach and connect with their students.

Through the "Education in Emergencies and early recovery support for children in Gaza Strip and West Bank” project, teachers in Gaza are gaining new tools and approaches to make learning more engaging, inclusive, and responsive to children’s needs.

Implemented by UNESCO in partnership with Save the Children, with funding from Education Cannot Wait, the project is supporting 64 teachers to reach 8,506 students across 12 Temporary Learning Spaces in Gaza.

💬 "If we promise children a guarantee, we must guarantee its funding."

Earlier this week, together with the EU Alliance for Investing in Children and the European Parliament, we convened policymakers, banks, philanthropies, civil society organisations and advocates for "The Future of Social Investment in Europe: Children at the Heart of the MFF 2028-2034".

One message came through clearly: investing in children is not a cost, it is an investment in Europe's future and a prerequisite to build a competitive society❗

The next EU budget must put children at its heart by protecting the 5% child poverty earmark, or it risks leaving millions behind.

A big thank you to the speakers and everyone who joined us🤝

🚨 New policy paper!

Child poverty is one of Europe’s most persistent challenges, with nearly 1 in 4 children at risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2025.

And despite the EU’s commitment to lift 5 million children out of poverty or social exclusion by 2030, there has been no net progress towards this target since 2019.

This means that, on average, around 2,800 children would need to move out of poverty or social exclusion every day until 2030 for the EU to meet its target.

The European Child Guarantee provides a framework for action, while the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) provides a critical source of investment.

Our new paper shows that where funding for child poverty is protected and clearly earmarked, this directly supports real improvements in children’s lives and can help make investments more visible, predictable and accountable.

This needs to be protected in the next EU budget #MFF.

📢 “A safeguard should not be dismantled because it has worked, especially when children need it most.”

Humanitarian workers protect people every day. But who protects them?

🤝Together with 67 NGOs and networks, VOICE is calling on the EU to:

1️⃣ Protect humanitarian workers and uphold international humanitarian law.

2️⃣ Ensure funding and partnerships that put their safety first.

Because those who help others deserve to be protected, too.
