Cezanne Landscapes Acrylic Painting Class

✔️ First Class tonight!

⛰️ Students used colored pencils, markers and crayons to create varied marks of different movement, color and thickness to bring texture and whimsical feeling to Mont Sainte-Victoire.

🌳 These are our own unique interpretations of Cezanne’s famous painting! Next step is to recreate our favorite landscapes in the same beautiful style…. Coming soon :)

Life Drawing is back @sawtoothschool . Seeing folks use their mind, hand, & soul to create and express what is before them never tires. It’s a great reminder of being human. Rock on.

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of my students. What makes it even better is that they’re big fans of each other as well! Some come to class already friends, and some friendships develop as we make things together - beautiful things, fun things, even mistakes sometimes, lol! And I absolutely love watching them hype each other up over their successes, like this beautiful bracelet by @marionkilloran .

I’ve got several more classes coming up this session at @sawtoothschool - check them out at the link in their bio!

Whoa, Nelly! Look at this kiln patina up close on these textures! This is why I love working with @clayrevolution ‘s Project X Bronze clays (and copper!) - the colors are incredible, and when they’re burnished, you can’t beat that shine and glow!

This is student work from one of my classes at @sawtoothschool - I was packaging it up for pickup, and was struck all over again by the colors when I looked closely at the play of light over the texture. It’s one of my favorites from @cooltools.us - subtle and low-relief, but rich in detail. I’ve made myself a couple pieces with it, and they always get compliments.

I’ll have more of my own work to post later this week - a virus took me out for a solid week, ugh, and now I’m scrambling to get ready for some fall shows! Stay safe out there!
