Year three at the Find Your Light Gala! 🤍

Last night I was there representing SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young. I spoke on stage, walked the carpet, met some really amazing celebrities and it was honestly one of the best nights ever.

Every kid who stutters deserves a place where they can be themselves and be heard. SAY gave me that, and I’m proud to show up for them every year. @sayorg

Thank you @joshgroban for always having me back, and @fylfoundation for helping kids like me shine. ✨

Today SAY:DC kicked off a new season of creativity and connection with our annual tradition of drafting up a set of values that we wish to uphold in the space. Not only is this year’s declaration filled with inspiring, honorable, and fun ideals, the vibes in the room as we collaboratively created it were positively immaculate ✨✨✨ Everyone is excited to continue making this piece even more beautiful in the coming weeks. Every young person deserves a place where they can feel heard.

For Carmelo, that place is @sayorg The Stuttering Association for the Young, one of Find Your Light Foundation’s grantee organizations.

Through SAY’s programs, Carmelo has found a community where stuttering doesn’t have to hold him back from performing, expressing himself, or connecting with others. Through the performing arts, he’s had the opportunity to build confidence, take creative risks, and share his voice on his own terms.

And this year, we’re thrilled to have Carmelo back at the Find Your Light Benefit Concert for Arts Education.

SAY reminds us that arts education can create more than opportunities to perform. It can create a place where young people feel understood, supported, and empowered to express who they are.

That’s what access to the arts can make possible.
