Celebrating my birthday today with something that feels like a real full-circle moment. I was featured in @incmagazine this week as the lead expert voice on what it takes to ‘Build Beauty Brands that Last’. 16 years ago I was steaming clothes and organising beauty closets as an intern in London, completely obsessed with this industry. Today, I’m being asked to weigh in on where the industry is heading. In the piece, I talk about something I’ve believed my whole career — the brands that people fall in love with aren’t just selling products, they’re building worlds. A huge thank you to @wordysoph for such a thoughtful conversation and for capturing it all so beautifully.

Sophie Blowfield was a founding marketing team member at Charlotte Tillbury before “influencer” was the word. Sixteen years later — @lorealparis @maccosmetics @alo @111skin & more — she’s the consultant that beauty founders call when they’re ready to articulate their brand and build a system around it. In the latest installment of A Meeting, we dive into specifics on building “something from nothing”, all the way to the moment she stopped being hired for her hours and started being called for her point of view. Read the full conversation on the Working Women Agency newsletter. Live now.
