First official day of school with @scentworksk9

Previous to this we’ve been working HARD on our odors, now comes the pressure. Of course it’s always the two leg side of the leash that feels it. To Sunny the second I take her orange vest out we’re playing her favorite game

A diamond only forms under incredible force

First big warehouse search for Sunny! We’re getting ready to start our handler course through @scentworksk9

it’s a lofty goal, but my goal is to certify sunshine in both explosives and weapons detection it feels like the heat is on high and there’s pressure in the kitchen for both of us! I will be documenting what I can of my journey. Super thankful to Sam at Scentworks for allowing me to join his class!!!

To say I’m proud of this team is an understatement.

I had the opportunity to sit on the K9 handler selection board with the HCSO brass and watch this young deputy earn his spot. From imprinting and training his dog, to pushing through handler school and earning his first OPOTA certification; I was fortunate to witness the entire journey.

You’ve earned this. Keep grinding, young man. The work is just beginning. 💪🏼🫡🏴‍☠️
