People are often surprised by how much life there is in the desert if you slow down enough to look. It isn’t easy out there, but these hardy plants and animals have so many fascinating adaptations to help them survive. Did you know that a desert tortoise can store water in its bladder, allowing them to survive for more than a year without drinking fresh water? Come backpack with us in Joshua Tree in the fall and discover more of this fascinating desert life for yourself!

For every trip that begins at the trailhead, there’s a whole adventure happening behind the scenes first.
Before the packs are on and the miles begin, our team is busy obtaining permits, planning menus, shopping for food, organizing gear, checking logistics, and making sure every detail is ready to go. The goal? So participants can show up excited, prepared, and ready for an unforgettable experience.
The mountains may get the spotlight, but a lot of care goes into the scenes you never see. 🌲✨

From cooking up tasty trail meals to cracking jokes in costume, our guides do it all. 🥾✨ Lasting Adventures wouldn’t be what it is without this incredible crew. They lead with heart, share their deep love for the parks, and bring unforgettable energy to every trip — even when decked out in glitter and tutus. As our final overnight of the season kicks off, we’re feeling extra grateful for this wild and wonderful trail family.💛 Did any of these guides bring magic to your trip this year?
