🚨NEW ARTIST ALERT! We’re thrilled to show @scott.toillion as our April artist of the month.

Here’s more about Scott:

I have been adventuring in Colorado and around the World for 40+ years in search of beauty for the next painting.

The time outdoors is spent hiking, rock climbing, trekking, photographing and observing wildlife and wildflowers. Much of the art created has come directly from these adventures.

The style, influenced to some degree by painters in the Impressionistic style is always undergoing change. Some work is focused on detail while others more on color and feel.

I keep hiking to find inspiration for art. As Vincent Van Gogh wrote to his brother Theo “Always continue walking a lot and loving nature, for that’s the real way to learn to understand art better and better. Painters understand nature and love it and teach us to see.”

🏔️ Come to the shop ALL MONTH to view and purchase Scott’s work!

Just the two Pattys being art aficionados hanging out with @scott.toillion at the Callahan House at last night’s art walk! Lots of beautiful landscapes and I always get transfixed looking at his columbines!

Here’s to Mania, the ABBA tribute band, and a night of fun with two Pattys and a Shawna! First we had to console the Toillions trusty Sherman, because we were in very odd clothing and not taking him on a hike. Unless you count walking up seven flights of stairs to a parking garage after dancing and singing a “hike.” Thankful for friends who drive and navigate downtown Denver parking, while I off key sing giggle shout lyrics at them in the car. Like old times on the trail! Fun concert! And only one of us has been to the real ABBA museum and hiked the Kungsleden (W😄W) so the other two of us OBVIOUSLY had to compensate with sparkly outfits. Which we are still finding evidence of all over the floor. I think Shawna and I got sequin stuck together more than a few times.

After canceled flights, rainstorms, lost luggage, sight seeing in Sweeden, collecting the lost luggage, our favorite easy going Toillion Trekkers are on their way! 18 hours to Abisko where @patty.toillion and @scott.toillion will go adventuring up around that arctic circle. Like a back country cabin hut experience. So let’s all go lay on our air conditioning vents in solidarity with them to send them easy travel vibes for the rest of the way! 🙌🙌🙌

Patty T’s on a peak! And my poles were in France and Switzerland today! I’m so very proud of them. Here’s a few pics from Col de Balme, the bunks in another hostel along the way, and my favorite- another paired photo series I’m artistically naming “coffees and plants.” Because I don’t know if the Pattys and Shawna and sloths and co. enjoy the hiking and running more or the chatting over coffee afterwards!
AND a few words from Shawna which cracked me up. (If you’ve Colorado hiked with me on a cloudy day-you know)
“We met Patty C jr yesterday. She was running up the trail asking what do you do with lightning. She was freaking out. We told her to slow down and not worry. Not sure if that was good advice or not.”
May it be known:
I HATE lightning on the trail or anywhere outside!! Two super close calls seeing and hearing a tree get zapped RIGHT CLOSE BY sizzled that fear into me!

Beautiful Skylines with beautiful beverages. One Patty and co. works her bum off on a trail and one trekked to Denver to get two COVID antibody shots in hers. And I am actually 💯 grateful we are both in the just right Perfect Patty spots for each of us today getting what we need. #alps #nature #kaiser #meds Very grateful for meds that will keep me on my feet and breathing strong for future treks with my favorite other Patty and fellow Sloth Hiking friends when they all gets home! (No alarms if you’ve been near me - I do not have The Rona currently, its a preventative antibody treatment for special little snowflakes with slightly suppressed systems- and I only got a slight whoosh of nausea and breathlessness- but -feeling better now!)

Beverages on Mt. Blanc: check out the views from the hostel @patty.toillion and @shawnacw stayed out with “82 of their new best friends!” The beta is: it was beautifully clean and they got warm showers - resting up for another day on that gorgeous trail! (Oh and I threw in a random Red Mountain Pass pic in here to play a little game- cuz you can’t take the Colorado ❤️ out of this fourth grade teacher’s heart- can you find it?)
