Music for the Soul 🤘🏽

Huge waves of gratitude to all King Studios students, parents, grandparents, friends, aunts, uncles, neighbors, and visionary rascals dedicated to their craft. I am in awe of you. I am humbled by the goodness that comes from you. I am honored to be one of your guides. Here is a short video celebrating the focus of my students from the jazz gig at The ABGB. Lyle Lovett attended the performance along with his beautiful wife and eight year old twins. If there was a picture in the dictionary of the perfect gentleman, Lyle Lovett’s face would be at the top. What a kind soul. They were there supporting a student in my studio and promptly fell in love with the rest of the crew. We are a mighty force. Lyle reminded us with his presence alone that Music is to be heard. Listened to. Shared. Further acknowledgement goes to the house band and my friend @womanbynicole We sang, we listened, we reveled in the connections happening on stage through Music. I am so grateful and very tired. 2025/2026 King Studios Season? That’s a wrap. It’s time for another edition of @myhaam #MusicMonday, powered by @fvflaw! 🎤🎼

Mexico-born and Austin-based, @shanik.hughes is blending the best of both worlds into a sound that’s made for the spotlight — and she’s been keeping busy.

Hughes weaves global rhythms and Latin pop into bilingual songs, and just this month, she brought that energy to Latinpalooza at the Continental Club.

Now she’s taking the WAA stage to perform her song “Hasta El Final” with talented musicians Dave Madden and Scott Clark.

See the full performance through the link in our bio!

Hey beautiful people,

“Shake It Off” is officially yours.

This one is a true labor of love. I poured my whole heart into it.
I’ve never felt this much pressure before a release — but someone once told me, “That’s a good thing. It means you care.”

That stayed with me.

I’ve done my part.
Now it’s your turn, 🤓

Go stream it. Re-stream it.
Like it. Share it. Dance to it.
Send it to someone who needs it.

And tell me how it makes you feel 🤍

Putting a project to rest is bittersweet… but we’re so very grateful for the enthusiasm, the energy, and the support of our 2 sold-out audiences this past weekend! 🙌

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU FOR CELEBRATING THE FEMME PERSPECTIVE WITH US THE THIS FALL! ❤️
