So many firsts this year for each one of us in this family.

Today we embarked on a journey with just the kids and I.

I thought of a lot of rodeo moms that have done this and besides my mom the next that came to mind was my friend Bonnie Merritt. Whew, they are incredible examples of hard working moms!

It was a good trip and we will make another tomorrow until Scott flies in with his cape and saves the day!

Days like this remind me that I am capable. There are moments of doubt but I guess my Scandinavian stubbornness prevails!

Statler was impressed with my trailer backing, I surprised myself pulling out of a tight spot and the girls, well, they were not amused.

It’s really an honor to be able to take your kids and watch them do hard things. Coach them through little moments and witness victories.

Rodeo, like most sports, is not easy. This cowboy of mine is continually showing us his confidence in times that most would back down. I have more to say on that subject another time!!

Overall a good, long day with my little cubs!

The Pioneer City Rodeo in Palestine, Illinois has come to be one of my favorite rodeos in the entire country. It is made up of great rodeo fans and a community of some of the best, hard working Americans you will ever find. Rudy Burns introduced me to this rodeo about 14 years ago and I have been working it every year since. It’s one of those rodeos that when you pull in to town and u@load your horse, his pen is ready and the water tanks are full. The place we park our trailer is mowed and looks like a well manicured lawn. They make you feel so welcome. So this is the speech I gave on the last two perfs as I say goodbye to one of my favorite places.
“Let me just start by saying “thank you” to Rudy Burns for introducing me to an amazing town and rodeo like Palestine Illinois. You know every year when I come to this rodeo it’s almost a 2000 mile drive from one Rodeo that I’m at out west to make it to Palestine when I leave here, I usually head home and it’s about 770 miles. This year I won’t see the house until almost October. The most important thing in life is knowing God and behind that is taking care of your family. Being away from my family for up to four months at a time can be very difficult. I just celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary this weekend right here in Palestine while my family is in Oklahoma. My wife and I have only spent two of our anniversaries together and after Long talks for the last couple of years and praying to God. I have decided that this is gonna be my last year in Palestine. I’m going home to take care of my family. I ask for your love and support in this difficult decision. I can not thank you enough for the memories that you have created and the family that we have established here in Palestine. Thank you and God bless you!”
No, I am not retiring yet, I just have to be more diligent about booking rodeos that get me home more. A big thank you to @scottdgrover for all the fun in the arena and to @mark.a.evans.14 for mixing the tunes. Thanks to the committee and @championshipprorodeoofficial for making the rodeo click off and helping with my acts. #palestineillinois #pioneercityrodeo #rodeo

It may not look like much but these are the times we cherish right now.
Just a few uninterrupted moments together.
Hanging out by our amazing Trails West trailer, washing the horses before the performance as we round out our summer rodeo run.

First #resistol I’ve had in quite a while. However I was “influenced” by a buddy of mine @scottdgrover who loves his Resistol hat. Now I love my new Resistol cowboy hat!!! #strongannouncer #

This is a note of gratitude and invitation.
Scott and I want to thank each person that has leaned in to learn more about these patches.
Whether you have trusted us and ordered and seen results!
Or whether you received some information and haven’t taken that step yet.
It means a lot to us that you can look to us for help.
We share because of what it has done for our family in a time of need and we keep sharing because of what it’s doing for so many of you.
Secondly, we want to extend an invitation.
There are in person events you can go to and learn more and hear others testimonies. I can tell you that when you sit in a room with others telling their story you will leave being impacted and your heart will be full.
There are zooms almost daily that you can get on live and they too still have that outcome.
Or you can reach out to Scott and I so we can hop on a call with you!
Whatever method, don’t delay your blessing. This is your invitation!!
