"The rise of artificial intelligence has sparked endless predictions about the future of music, with some claiming that algorithms will soon eclipse the very artists who have shaped it for generations.

For Scottish musician and artist Richard Macintyre, those predictions weren't a warning - they were a challenge he chose to take head on.

Rather than retreat from an industry being reshaped by technology, Macintyre assembled a collective of lifelong musicians, artists and creatives united by a simple belief: that the soul of great art can never be replaced.

What followed became far more than an album. It became an artistic statement, one that rejects the notion that this new technology will eclipse the future of human creativity.

In an era increasingly trying to find its place under the looming presence of artificial intelligence, Macintyre and his collaborators chose to bet on the one thing machines cannot replicate: the spark of human imagination.

The result is a timeless work that reminds us why music has always been and always will be, a profoundly human art form."

It’s taken 4 years of complete obsession with a vision that came to me in a dream to be able to say this, today — June 12th, 2026.

“The future of our art is unknown as we stand at the crossroads of a new age, where artificial intelligence and the human spirit collide.

May ‘Nostalgia Burns’ always serve as a reminder of a time and place where a group of open-hearted, like—minded artists came together with nothing more than a desire to make something real from the deepest oceans of their collective imagination.

Everything you see and hear actually happened — and it was incredible.”

‘Nostalgia Burns’ is out today on all platforms and physical record.

As we finally let it fly, a new chapter begins.
A short film is coming.

There will be time to speak about every incredible person who shaped this, but I need to say this now — none of it would be what it is, musically or visually, without my closest collaborators, Iain Hutchison and Sarah Jeanne Mgeni.

This record belongs to them too.

To everyone who has listened, loved, and let this into their life so far — thank you.

Siiga began as an escape. A sanctuary. A place to dream, to play, to transcend. Now I read messages from strangers who feel the same, and I’m surrounded by people who’ve helped turn it into something far greater than I imagined.

What more could you ask for?

Now — we launch.

We play live in Glasgow this Sunday 14th at @drygateglasgow, come join us.

Here’s to the future.

Richard
