Welcome @scuba_nacho to the DSCNT ambassador team! 🌊

A technical diver and divemaster based in Miami Florida, Nacho joins us with an invitation to everyone who shares his love of the ocean.

That’s what DSCNT is about: bringing divers, scientists and ocean enthusiasts together to connect, share experiences and learn from one another.

We’re building a community where logging dives and recording what we see can contribute to a better understanding of the ocean and help inform its protection.

Our ambassadors help make that happen by leading by example, sharing their knowledge, inviting others in and giving honest feedback that shapes what we build.

We’re excited to have Nacho helping us grow that community. Join him and the rest of us at www.dscnt.io.

Every dive can help us understand the ocean. 💙

No trending audio needed, listen to the shark tail scrape across my camera. Imagine trusting sharks more than humans.....let that sink in. Humans kill millions and millions of sharks every year, thousands a day. They keep our oceans in balance and deserve to thrive in the wild like they have for hundreds of millions of years. They are not man eaters or I would not be here to post this video.

She couldn’t care less about my camera, and honestly? She has 120 million years of seniority on me. 🐢🌾

Sea Turtles aren’t just ancient—their ancestors were gliding through these same waters alongside the dinosaurs during the Cretaceous period. When the asteroid struck 66 million years ago and wiped out roughly 75% of Earth's species, turtle lineages found a way to survive.

Let’s keep the ocean healthy enough that these living relics can graze in peace for another 100 million years. 🌊✨

One way to help, stop using single use plastics. Plastic bags look identical to jellyfish and when they end up in the ocean it's often lethal for a turtle. Buying reusable ziplock bags is a small way you can help. We can all do little things that can make a big difference.

Scuba Network, the next chapter… and why we’re dropping “Scuba” from the name!

🤿 It started with a liveaboard trip, a group of new dive buddies and a surprisingly awkward attempt to stay in touch. I wanted somewhere to keep those connections alive, share our dives and find inspiration for the next trip. Then I realised how much useful information was sitting in our logbooks and photos. Useful for other divers, but potentially for scientists and people working to protect the ocean too. That’s when I went all in.

So, meet DSCNT, pronounced “descent”: The Dive, Science & Conservation NeTwork. Scuba diving is still at the heart of it. But I want freedivers, snorkelers, scientists and conservation communities to feel just as welcome.

Your dives, your memories and finding your next adventure remain central to what we’re building. The ambition is to connect all of that with something we can give back to the ocean. I’m so excited about where this is going! Read the story behind the name:

The Spotted Eagle Ray has been gliding through our oceans for over 30 million years—long before humans ever walked the Earth. Today, human actions have driven them to the Endangered Species list.

What will the news headlines say when they're gone from our oceans? Perhaps:
-How Human Activity Erased a 30-Million-Year-Old Legacy
-Ghost of the Reefs: Spotted Eagle Rays Are Officially Gone

Let’s change the headline before it’s written. Protect our oceans, vote for people who care. Be their voice. I don't ever want to say, "Remember when we used to dive with Spotted Eagle Rays?" 💔

This video was not slowed down, this Eagle Ray was just gliding in her home, completely unbothered by me slowly capturing her incredible beauty, the undisputed Royalty of the Ocean.

It was like the first Trunkfish came over to my camera and said, "Come meet my family!" There were 4 of them together, so cute. Who else loves Trunkfish?

Browse our accomodations here https://www.aldoravilla.com/

and come Dive. Rest. Repeat 🤿🇲🇽

In 2025 there were 9 deaths caused by sharks, GLOBALLY. Cows killed 20 people in the US alone and Dogs were responsible for 75 deaths just in America...yet Sharks are portrayed as the man eaters.

Steven Spielberg has explicitly stated that he deeply regrets the devastating real-world impact the movie JAWS had on global shark populations. Humans kill over 100 million sharks a year, who's the real apex predator?

It was just after sunrise and she was walking up. Just imagine you are beside a dinosaur that is unbothered by you.....these are the moments divers live for. She was so sweet, I captured the video and moved on.

I did and I have multiple times. Both of my daughters who I would take a bullet for. Do you think a loving mother who lives and breathes for her girls would risk their lives? Hell no. We have been in the middle of sharks on dives many times without a problem. So do you still think they're still man eaters?

Moved into the wreck, no deposit, no lease, no HOA.

Just a green moray claiming the C-53 Wreck like the mortgage is already paid off. The little yellow fish is the roommate who never splits utilities. #ocean #nature #wildlife #scuba #underwater
