What would a bullied kid actually do if he suddenly had superpowers?

That question is SPIRIT WEEK, our feature film. This week it’s one of the projects selected for the 2026 @thegotham Week Project Market in Brooklyn.

It started as a short, BALLOON—going viral with 6M+ views in four weeks on YouTube. The feature is a character-driven indie superhero thriller with a mother-son story as its beating heart. The film explores how we raise boys, and what a boy does with power before he knows who he wants to be.

Written and directed by @jeremymerrifield. Produced by Dream Three with @scythiafilms: @danielatbekerman (THE WITCH), @jordanhart11 and @katechamuris.

At 26 Bridge this week? Come find us!

The HYDE PARK PICTURE HOUSE in LEEDS was originally opened as a 587-seat single screen cinema in 1914. It underwent a massive renovation thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and reopened in July 2023 with a second screen (51 seats) and a refurbished main auditorium (now 237 seats).

The renovation is stunning— Every detail is deeply considered & perfect! They kept the old ticket booth out front, polished up the original flooring, maintained the stain-glass window and have a self-tour museum inside that includes snack wrappers enjoyed by patrons in the 1910’s & 1920’s (Mostly cigarettes, chocolate & ice-cream).

They’ve also created two comfy seated areas for the community to work, chill and chat before screenings. A genuine, heart-felt and culturally valuable contribution to the Hyde Park neighbourhood & Leeds in general!

I saw two films here—

Seit dem 20.08.26 läuft "Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma" in ausgewählten Kinos.

I won a grant! It is quite an honor to receive a grant from the @mentalhealthstorytelling initiative, recognized alongside an incredible group of storytellers.

@wittelstephanie and I met because of this award, and I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to work with her in support of a mission we both believe in: using stories to create connection and community. Thanks to MHSI’s generous support, we recorded a special episode of her podcast, Last Day, in recognition of her new book, also called Last Day. (Have you gotten your copy yet? It’s an incredible and important read.)

Our podcast episode is now live if you’d like to give it a listen!

Congratulations to all my fellow grantees! 🥳
