It's that time of year and the Thanksgiving Sando has returned. It's our house crispy fried turkee, on our toasted pretzel bun with arugula, tomato, onions, a little bit of butter mashed potatoes, our sage stuffing and our scratch cranberry sauce with notes of orange. Nothing says cozy like this savory sandwich. If you missed it here's your chance, if you haven't tried it don't sleep on it.

Lasagna lasagna lasagna. We make it every year for just a couple months, but this year we've redesigned our most popular winter dish and made it 10 times better.
From our scratch whipped ricotta & mozzarella to our ground sausage and pepperoni and our Chianti Bolognese with our delicious marinara and chopped herbs,all layered between sheets of House made pasta.

We kicked the month off with this and tomorrow will drop the notorious Thanksgiving Sando,Sunday we get the meatloaf platter and Monday we drop the Thanksgiving pre-order menu. I'm also dropping a pair chai fig cake in about an hour or two. Come on down and visit we'd love to see your face.

So a bunch of us are doing a thing on the 19th of September.
We're doing some beach clean up and we're going to do some block party stuff and we got some DJs and some cool singers and food and smoothies and organic fresh pressed juice.

Here it is, Burrito number 6

The Wakey Wakey is the breakfast burrito we've been dreaming about. It's vegan but the eggs taste like eggs,not chickpea flour. The bacon is crunchy and tastes like bacon and the smokey salty chorizo gives it that body. We roasted the potatoes so it tastes like you're on a campout. The crema and avocado and jalapenos make this the perfect way to start your day, or finish it. We don't care, you do you.
This completes our current Journey into the world of burritos. At the end of the month all six are going on the menu. And you can make some variances like get them in a bowl stuff like that. We just want a little bit more time to practice.
September is going to be all about new partnerships and community and kale chips and pretzel bites I don't know it's wild stuff.
So whether it's us or someone else go out and support a small business today or tomorrow or don't. I don't know. Be nice to other people you know regular stuff.

Everything ends. Your childhood house will be torn down, your favorite tree will fall, and the vegan Mexican food stall at your local mall will lose its lease to a Missouri billionaire.

Perhaps I’m being a little dramatic, but that’s how I feel about El Veganito closing. Because for the six years it thrived at Grossmont Center, I took it for granted.

It took a crew of five girls and three dogs for me to finally try the depths of the menu. And it’s only now, as they’re about to leave, that I’ve fallen in love with the Veganito fries. We got it loaded with seared vegetables that taste almost sweet against the guacamole, sour and chipotle cream spread across a bed of fries with vegan adobada.

We also shared the California burrito, rolled potato tacos, the birria melt, adobada tacos, and fish tacos.

I ordered even more food to take home and spent the weekend savoring jackfruit carnitas piled over black beans on the sopes, and potato and tofu scramble stuffed inside a Bee-fast burrito.

We only have until August 22 to hold these forarm sized burritos close to our hearts and pray that Victor finds a new place to land his menu.

THE JERK

it's jerk chiken, with that scratch marinade seared in. It's habanero mango salsa, it's callaloo coconut rice, and crema, and avocado and cotija. All wrapped and seared in a crispy but still tender tortilla.

It's delicious. It's definitely become my favorite thing that we make right now. Try it or don't. I don't know 😂

I couldn't get my hand on any Scotch bonnets so I used habaneros but it still slaps.

So this is the official reel for burrito number 5.

Dropping number six in 10 days.

THE SUPER KALI CALIFORNIA BURRITO

Burrito 4 is here. Following the Soul Crusher, the Bodega+, and the Jacques Cousteau, we are dropping the Super Kali: our take on a California burrito featuring seared carne, house fries, melted pepperjack, house crema, chipotle, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, chili-spiced Fritos, and a hit of cotija.

This baby is 2 lbs of vegan SoCal decadence, and the ultimate restorative after a busy day in the California sun.

We still have two more unannounced burritos dropping in the next couple of weeks.

Doors are closed and the AC is running. Come get out of the heat.
