What I read this week! September 14th - 20th
My Heart Is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones: I read 68 pages, and I’m now 48% of the way into the book.
Then I started Thrashers by Julie Soto with @sdrosereads, and we are 143 pages in (42%).
Then I started a cross-stitching game that was created by @themuseumstitcher and her friends I believe. I needed to do 400 stitches for this week as one of my couples chosen was at the bottom of the leaderboard (Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik) and the crowd booed the judges and Carrie Ann mentioned illegal lifts. For Tatyana, I picked making snowflake ornaments and I ended up completing two of them going over the needed 400 stitches but that’s okay.
Q: What did you read last week?!

✨️ 𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝟓 ✨️

☆ These challenges are always fun, but it is so hard to narrow so many favorite things to just 5....so here are the first 5 things that came to my mind when I thought of books, movies, tv shows, songs and albums.

☆ Some of these have been an all-time favorite, so they are living rent-free in my mind for sure.

☆ Thank you @focused.on.books for the tag in this challenge!

⁉️ 𝐃𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧?

Tagging a few bookish friends, but as always, no pressure. And if you see this and would like to give it a try, don't hesitate! Tag me so I can see your top 5s! 🫰

Stay bookish, my friends! 📚

🆆🅷🅴🅽 🅸 🆃🆁🅰🆅🅴🅻 challenge! 🧳

I love traveling!! All the bookdragons who love to travel, hop on this challenge if you want to 😉.
Thank you @behindthebookstagram for the tag! 🩷

When traveling, do you want to:

✈️ Travel with a 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗿 𝗲-𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿?
☆ That's when I use my kindle the most. I love physical books but they either take up space or add to the weight. My kindle already has so many books on it, it's just easier to take on travels.

✈️ 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝘆 the hotel pool, the beach, in nature after a hike or in my cozy hotel bed?
☆ I can literally read everywhere. But I do enjoy reading outdoors in the nature, or by the beach too. The waves are just so calming 😌.

✈️ Travel by 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲/𝗰𝗮𝗿/𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻/𝗯𝗼𝗮𝘁?
☆ We mostly travel by car, and that's when we listen to audibooks unless my husband wants to listen to music and I'll read my book then. But I do like traveling by plane too. I enjoy airports haha. 🛫

✈️ Visit a 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆?
☆ Bookstores 🩷. I use the local library when I would like to read a book I don't necessarily want to buy. But I love visiting bookstores. It's a must wherever I go.

✈️ Visit this 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (including movie/tv/adaptation locations)?
☆ Uhmmm absolutely 💯!! I would like to vizit Zermatt, Switzerland (a irl version of Velaris), or Lapland, Finland. It was in another book I read and just fell in ❤️ with it. Take me there!!

✈️ Travel to this 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱?
☆ Still going with Velaris from ACOMAF.

✈️ 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 in this city, just like in novels?
☆ Not sure if it was in the novels, but I like the coast islands from Greece and Italy. The beautiful green pastures and beauty of Scotland or its Edinburgh city.

✈️ Attend a bookish ball in a beautiful city with this 𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿?
☆ I might just have to choose Cassian from ACOTAR series, because he's such a big goofball and I'll need someone to make me laugh since balls aren't really my thing 😅.

So I went down the rabbit hole of Pride and Prejudice yesterday. Honestly I was nervous as I know this is a beloved classic. So far I'm liking it. I should have it done today. I've done a mix of physical reading and audio last night while I was doing stuff. Do you read classics? What are some of your favorites? Not sure if you can tell but Dodger is giving me major side eye for putting my book by him. 🤣🤣🤣

Hello my stalwart hunters!
🕯️
Thank you so much to everyone who played, volunteered or became unsuspecting participants (authors and candle makers) in this hunt! We had 800 - 1000 entries each day and almost half of that submitted for the bonus puzzle! Wow!! I hope you all had fun playing it, as much as I had fun making it - As before, I love it when I see players excited to discover new accounts to explore and adding new books and authors featured in the hunt to their TBR. We found some beautifully curated accounts (and so many more that didn't make the cut that I hope apply again in the future!)
🕯️
Congratulations to random daily winners who, in total, respectively won 13 full size* prints, and 78 mini prints. PLUS, a hearty congratulations to the 13 additional random winners of the bonus word puzzle who win an available full size print* of their choice:

Finally, I want to give another gracious thank you the volunteers (tagged on each solution post) who hosted the daily hunting grounds for this giveaway! There were over 170 people who volunteered, and I spent whole day looking through ALL of them! There were SO many gorgeous accounts, and I wish I could have used them all! I didn't expect this to be an annual thing, but if you all don't get tired of candles, I'd be happy to oblige!

Check out the full image slides for the solutions!
*Full print specs and limitations are on original hunt post.

What are your plans for Halloween? 🎃🎃🎃 This is such a cosy time of year, I’m really looking forward to hot cocoa in the evenings and lots of reading of course! The Seven Sisters series is so good and I’m really looking forward to the last 2 books 🤩 #bookstagram #tbr #bookworm #books #booksandbunnies

What are you reading right now? Here are four books I’ve read this month 🤩 The Muse had really sympathetic, interesting characters, but I thought the plot was weak 🌟🌟🌟 The Lonely Life of Biddy Weir was a dark story at times, but with a touchingly positive ending 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Random Attachment had really unique, fun characters and a thrilling plot 🌟🌟🌟🌟 The Awakening was a fascinating look at womens’ rights and slavery 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 #bookstagram #books #tbr #currentlyreading

What’s your favourite genre? 📚 As well as YA, I’ve always been really into mysteries and crime, so ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ was a combination of all my favourite things! I honestly could not put it down; the characters were amazing, the twists were perfect and I recommend it to everyone, ever 🥳 I’m trying out something new for this post, by linking to this book in my bio! If you’re interested, click on the link to read more about it 😊 #bookstagram #books #bookrecommendation #recommended #ya #crime #thriller #mystery
