Three whole years now brother. We all miss you. I remember in elementary school there was always some kid that was really good at hide and go seek. They knew the best spots and wouldn’t come back for a while even after we yelled “you can come out now”. This feels like the grown up version. An uncomfortable amount has changed and I hate to say you wouldn’t recognize me today. Still me, just a lot more “put together” or whatever that means. Sad to say still no dubstep which you’ve made clear then and would now that such words aren’t to be said. I do have a really cool story though. Yesterday a friend I made recently randomly called me “mr. T” out of nowhere. Incredible timing.

“if are you so sure, burn the ship”

The phrase "burn the ships" comes from the story of Hernán Cortés.

When Cortés arrived in Mexico with his men, many of them wanted to go back. The land was unknown. The risk was high. Retreat felt safer.

So he ordered the ships destroyed, so no one could return.

There was no backup plan.
No way out.
Only one direction: forward.

Burning the ships means wanting something so badly, being so sure it will happen, that you're willing to go for it with everything you've got.

When there's no option to return to who you were, you show up differently.

Birthday Weekend pt. 2

Good friends are a reminder that we deserve to be loved. A reminder that any voice that may tell us we don’t deserve a good life is simply not true.

After living in solitude for most of the year, to then be surrounded by so much love and support is humbling to say the least. To everyone in these photos and to the people who are in my world in general, I love you and I’m grateful to be here with you. I wanna use my life in service to you. When I die I wanna be a used up dry rag that has squeezed every last drop of love that I could spare, in hopes to reflect back to you the love that you show me.

Thanks for making me feel celebrated. 28 feels good.

Also Happy Birthday to Jacob and Aly! It was really fun to share our birthdays, let’s do it again next year.
