Sponsored: Patrick Martinez @patrick_martinez_studio is flipping the visual language of L.A. architecture into story-soaked walls that hold memory, power, and culture.

From neon signs to cinder-block murals, his work celebrates the resilience, humor, and activism at the heart of East L.A. — glowing tributes to communities that refuse to fade.

Mayan-inspired imagery peeks through layers of paint and commercial signage, revealing histories. The deeper you look, the more the past slides into the present.

🎬 Now on YouTube! 🌹 Patrick Martinez @patrick_martinez_studio turns the language of L.A. architecture into narrative walls that tell stories and reflect histories.

His glowing signs and cinder-block murals honor the resilience, humor, and activism of East L.A.

Imagery borrowed from Mayan murals seems to peek out from beneath commercial signage and peeling layers of paint. Unfolding slowly with visual complexity, these works argue that the past belongs to the present.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to @marcselwynfineart and his entire team for the care, commitment, and respect you brought to this exhibition. It means a great deal to see my work held in a space that honors not only the pieces themselves, but the stories and history they carry.

To everyone who came out to the opening of the show, who took time to experience the screening of “The Hero Avenges” by the amazing duo @ceremony_blue & @seanrowry from the @hammer_museum and to those who joined the walkthrough to hear my personal stories behind the work—thank you. Your presence, your questions, your reflections… they reminded me why I create.

Art is a vessel for memory, resistance, and healing. Seeing so many of you engage with it so deeply was powerful. You didn’t just look—you listened. And for that, I am truly grateful for everyone who has been a part of this from the beginning.

Thank you again for walking this path with me.

The fight continues!
