Life as of late ✨ June had me here, there & a lil bit of everywhere. At this point, @amtrak is my second home 🚆😂 Thankful for my communities near and not so near that bring me so much joy in my day to day! I’m claiming this summer as a “Summer of Ease” cuz this Capricorn about to turn up the second half of this year! 😂😂 😈

Also congrats to all of the 2026 graduates! What a special time in your lives ✨✨ My biggest piece of advice to y’all is to do it scared. Take that risk, move to that city, start that business, shoot that shot ✨✨

David Bowie and Bruce Springteen, 1974, Sigma Studios, Philadelphia.

Continuing some Philly Loves Bowie week posts. I have to admit it's a bit disappointing on less events and other activites we got this year. I'm pretty jealous of London holding a photography gallery museum. Can we trade places? Haha!

Anyways the reason i'm sharing this photo of Bowie and Bruce is because I want to share some Sigma Studios posts. Photo 3 is last year when I share the building at present day.

Photo 4 is a new post. Back in April of 2025, I continued on a bit more Bowie week posts just to share now with you all. I spoke with Sigma Studio archivist and Drexel professor Toby Seay to request a tour of the music archive, especially the recorded outtakes of Bowie when he was recording Young Americans. I had the most amazing time meeting Toby and learning more about Bowie's historical mark in Philly. He even let me know there's some lost tracks that still need developing and maybe it will be revived. Fingers crossed. Haha!

It may be the same old story but to me, I'm glad I kept digging into more Bowie history I probably did not know at that time. I'm so grateful for Toby's time to meet with me and listen to the unreleased outtakes. Thank you so much!
Maybe next year they should reconsider opening the archive tour again for some who probably did not know much on this like me. Well just a suggestion.

The Move Closer To Your World news package was commissioned in 1974 by 6ABC executive Walter Liss in an attempt to replicate the success of Al Ham’s unforgettable “Buy the World a Coke” campaign for Coca-Cola. Ham again recruited the singing group comprised of his wife Mary and daughter Lorri, The Hillside Singers, and set about recording dozens of different versions of Move Closer To Your World. The main theme has been used in the Philadelphia region as the theme song to Action News since it was first adopted in the 70s.

Al’s son Sean Ham was able to miraculously rescue the original master tapes from an old barn in upstate New York before being destroyed. Toby Seay from Drexel University remediated and transferred the material from the tapes to digital, and @ryanschwabe_ remastered the tracks. Grammy nominated local legend @perryshall designed the stellar artwork, making this release a 100% Philly affair.

Year recap part 2

1 - @smprmusic conference with @brechtdeman, @philhardingmusic, @andrew.bourbon and @seaytoby
2 - the actual presentation on Dolby Atmos mix typology and work flows (it featured a guest appearance from @buffwerk on zoom)
3 - ESMA-3D mid gig. We host gigs for the student bands and DJs and I wanted to see how well a venue would replicate using an immersive array… spoiler… it worked very well
4 - @aplhuddersfield in New York. @hklworld1025, @daleomatic and I launched Virtuoso 2.0 at the @aes_org to huge success. This was an amazing trip
5 - @christaljerez and I gave an immersive audio workshop in @platinumsoundny. She looks shocked but I assure you it went well. It was technically the launch of the Fajnor-Wendl technique
6 - @powerstationatberkleenyc! I couldn’t believe I was in this studio as it has hosted so many incredible musicians, producers and engineers
7 - speaking of incredible engineers, @ootermind toured me round Powerstation and we discussed immersive micing techniques. ESMA-3D was used by Alex in Powerstation just a few weeks later!
8 - I got to be part of the @echo_immersive_recording project and another amazing studio to be in… the world famous @airstudioslyndhurst
9 - this project brought incredible engineers together to trial different immersive arrays and techniques. This wasn’t even all the people involved but you know it’s good when you capture @hklworld1025, @morten_lindberg and @ascheps in one picture
10 - over to @threesixzero studios (formerly SARM) to see @harrybrownproduction. My year pretty much starts with Harry and I seeing an incredible studio in Berlin and it ends with him working in an incredible studio in London

Overall I’ve had an amazing year so 2025 has a lot to compete with. There are already plans to make it great 😉
