Since we are all doing our little 2022 recaps I like to take this moment to thank all that attended and participated in Instant Infinity 🥵🥶🦦🫡💞

A group exhibition about co-existing with the current state of the internet that I curated together with @doronbeuns

In retrospect I believe that the works in the show really reconciled the dopamine inducing affect of online amusement with the more erudite dimension of being human. To paraphrase the late great Nietzsche; we are a rope tied between an animal and superhuman - A rope tied over an abyss we call the internet"

Works by:
@annie.van.noortwijk
@carlrethmann
@daancouzin
@doronbeuns
@federmess
@nataliyata
@maxotisking
@seb_price
@violarenate

Special thanks to @leeaznam and @offgrid.agency for providing the wonderful space.

Thank you dear people for organising, exhibiting or visiting, for I am grateful sharing our time and work together.
♾️ VR’s gizmo reflectors, Hand Luggages To Go Nowhere, vivify a respect and reference to the essential energy formulae, action as existence, liberated from on-device screen enslavement.
♾️ Wall-Candies, Online/Offline, serve the esoteric and the exoteric, on the bon bon flavour of ecstasy.

Thank you to everyone who turned up to Instant Infinity over the week and thank you to @doronbeuns @isabelemmy and @offgrid.agency for having me show for the first time outside the UK. Had some great conversations about my work and the other exhibiting artists work. It was a pleasure to be able to be there in person 🧡

Tomorrow is the opening of the group show INSTANT INFINITY, curated by @isabelemmy & @doronbeuns. I’ll be showing the oil painting shown above, which is part of my In The Dutch Mountains series.

The selection of artworks shown during the exhibition explore how artistic practices have adapted to the current state of the internet. These works are contributing to a discourse that finds its roots in the early 2010’s. Around that time we witnessed how a first generation of Post-Internet artists used digital strategies to create physical objects.

Hope to see you there!

Thanks to @isabelemmy and @doronbeuns for inviting me to participate in a group show about co-existing with the current state of the internet. It opens on Thursday the 8th, until the 12th and it is hosted by @offgrid.agency - Amstel 208H

🔮 For the show, I’m exhibiting two sculptures I made around February 2020 when thinking about truth. As narrative props, the objects exclude the human from looking at the truth that can be relative, absolute or subjective.

🔮Truth is a series of fortune-teller orb one-off pieces set in a narrative where the desire to know suggests different ideas of truth.
🔮The Facehugger creature is made, but not born, using data.
🔮A Silicon-Valley data analysis company Palantir signifies humans replaced by information, which Ridley Scott’s Alien is engaging with.
🔮 As science-fiction imagination suggests, an augmented relationship and human activity is the information used for future predictions.
🔮 The human body thereof is substituted by the information needed to be produced.
