Well last night was ridiculous - and we can hardly believe our luck as we have two more evenings with Sebastian Gibrand & Robert Sjöberg! The menu was up there as one of the best we’ve seen here at MFW and this is Pop Up no. 70. Everyone left raving last night and tonight we are so excited to be welcoming another group of MFW members, with friends and family, to sample the culinary magic of Team Gibrand & Sjöberg.

The menu looks like this (and to get a sense of what’s being uncorked swipe along!) - try not to get too jealous!!

Snacks – Tartlet with spring shoots and a smoked vinaigrette, Brioche with mature cheese  
First course – Rainbow trout crudo with a tomato ponzu & yuzu kosho

Second course – Steamed cup with roasted chicken & caviar

Third course – Mushroom dashi with scallop and truffle

Fourth course – Duck of the bone with carrot, saffron & ras el

Dessert – Tomato & strawberry (från Bocuse d’Or 2021) with a warm sponge cake

What a week - and we’re not done yet! Tonight we turn our eyes to Pop Up no. 70 (Seventy!!) as we welcome back the awesome Sebastian Gibrand to MFW for three completely sold out evenings. Sebastian Gibrand has already achieved so much as a chef and considering his age it’s quite ridiculous how many medals and successes he has claimed. In 2019 alone he won a silver medal for Sweden at Bocuse d’Or, won Kockarnas Kamp and was chosen to preside over the Nobel Banquet! With his immense talent and wonderful personality it is always a pleasure to see Sebastian here, and this time there is some extra excitement in the air as his plans to open a restaurant grow bigger by the day. Together with Robert Sjöberg they run a consulting company and now the wheels are in motion to open a restaurant this year - we can’t wait!! Joining the team in the kitchen is non other than Thilda Mårtensson - officially the best Commis in Europe. Thilda was awarded the title at this years Bocuse d’Or earlier in the week and now she’s here at MFW! Welcome Thilda and congratulations!

But first we have these three evenings to look forward to - and boy are we looking forward to them! These Pop Ups seek to inspire our members to open some of the treasures that lie within our vault alongside a menu of the highest order. With the level of food coming out the pass and the equally breathtaking bottles being uncorked it’s easy to say that on nights like these MFW is the best restaurant in town!

Studio Nian inleder ett samarbete med Sebastian Gibrand och Robert Sjöberg.

Studio Nian den lilla exklusiva foodstudion på Sibyllegatan 9, Östermalm.

Samarbetet innebär att Sebastian och Robert kommer få möjlighet att i en unik, intim och personlig miljö servera sin majestätiska gastronomi. De blir överösta med förfrågningar om privata lyxmiddagar. Så vi var inte sena att säga: Varmt välkomna!

Vi kommer att under våren att utveckla vårt samarbete. Det börjar med en middag den 28:e april och efter det så kommer det finnas plats för Sebastian och Robert att husera i vårt lilla kök.

Sebastian Gibrand
Sebastian har erfarenhet från en rad olika stjärnkrogar runt om i världen och har en imponerande tävlingsbakgrund från både Juniorkocklandslaget samt som lagkapten för Svenska Kocklandslaget. På sin meritlista har Sebastian det ärofyllda uppdraget att få ansvara för Nobelmiddagen, vunnit ett silver i Bocuse d’Or, världens mest prestigefyllda tävling för kockar, och en vinst i TV4’s Kockarnas Kamp 2019.

Robert Sjöberg
Robert har stort fokus på hållbarhet och är en av branschens mest kunniga namn inom råvaror. Han har samlat på sig stor kunskap framför allt genom arbete på den råvarufokuserade stjärnkrogen Volt. Han är expert på att välja ut det bästa efter säsong och brinner för våra svenska mathantverkare. Genom ett nära samarbete med våra svenska bönder, odlare, uppfödare och fiskare ser han till att vi alltid jobbar med råvaror av högsta kvalitet.
