📢WS 参加者募集 「梅若はまだ帰らない。」 Sebastian Geilings ダンスワークショップ 2026年9月26日（土）15:00～17:30 会場：八広地域プラザ 吾嬬の里＜多目的ホール＞ 講師：Sebastian Geilings @sebjohn ＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝ オーストラリア／ニュージーランドダンスシーンの第一線で活動するSebastian Geilingsによるワークショップ ＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝ 山﨑広太「梅若はまだ帰らない。」＜戯曲ダンス版＞に出演する、オーストラリア出身のダンサー・振付家、セバスチャン・ゲリングスによるダンスワークショップを開催します。 セバスチャンは、ニュージーランド・スクール・オブ・ダンスでコンテンポラリーダンスを学び、New Zealand Dance Company、Footnote New Zealand Dance、Australian Dance Theatre、Lucy Guerin Incなど、オーストラリアとニュージーランドを代表するカンパニーやアーティストの作品に参加。国内外の舞台やフェスティバルで幅広く活動してきました。 山﨑広太『Fog, Nerves, Future, Ocean, Hello (echoes)』のニュージーランドツアーにも出演。近年は振付家としても活動し、身体的な強度と感情の動きをあわせ持つ作品を発表しています。2025年には、フォーク音楽、コンテンポラリーダンス、ケルト神話を組み合わせた長編作品『Mis Ó The Mountains』を共同制作し、出演も務めました。 セバスチャンの実践は、力みのない身体の使い方、身体感覚への探究、そして遊びを通して、身体が持つ可能性を引き出すことを軸としています。本ワークショップでは、これまでのダンスと創作の経験を背景に、身体の感覚に耳を澄ませながら、動きを見つけ、広げていくプロセスに取り組みます。 対象 ダンスや身体の動きを扱った経験のある方であれば、ジャンルや活動歴を問わず、どなたでもご参加いただけます。（中学生以上） 実施日時 2026年9月26日（土）15:00～17:30 ※受付開始：14:30 参加料 無料（定員：30名／先着順） お申込み https://www.uhyr.info/ws @sebjohn @kotahopper @sumida_artfest @minanekobubble @hayashi_keiichi

Here are some photos of my recent rollercoaster experience contributing composition and sound design to Oli Mathieson's 'Just Between Me and Jesus' – a new dance work that premiered last week at the Biennale Danza 2026 - The 20th International Festival of Contemporary Dance - curated by Sir Wayne McGregor My friend and hot-shot producer @beebunnies introduced me to the world of dance when, after becoming obsessed with archival footage of Limbs Dance Company, I called the @nzdanceco and naively asked to collaborate for a music video. Behnaz gave me the chance to work with Carl, Chrissy, Xin and Katie for the first time and this was the start of a new chapter for me So anyway Behnaz called and was like "can you help us - we had a composer and now we don't!" "Drawing equally from the universe of the dancefloor and rave culture and the collective memories embedded in all systems of belief..." For me the intersection of dancefloor and religious experience was too much in my wheelhouse to decline -- my album Desperate Late Night Energy had a song called Manifest Presence and basically after talking to Oli about his concept it was like 'yes, I know exactly what we are trying to achieve here because that's what I am always trying to achieve too' I joined the project in week three after rehearsals had already begun. We had to move really fast and lots of late nights etc.. Also I had to bail on a Carnivorous Plant Society tour and hopefully @finn_scholes will one day forgive me This work will have a lovely long life and though I didn't get to see the premiere in Venice, I can't wait to see it at another of the prestigious venues where it will be performed in future Thanks to the whole team for having me and also to John Gibson, @c__.cada , @magikj and @torbitor who was rehearsal director but also translator / therapist / dramaturg 📸 1 - extremely good-looking creative team 2 - workplace humour 3 - set in development at the Kiri Te Kanawa Centre technical week 4 - as above 5 - aforementioned hot-shot producer 6 - proud choreographer 7 - the INCREDIBLE dancers 8 - DJ Oli at Jellystone Park Studio (my studio) 9 - the team at Wellesley Studios

Tonight is the world premiere of ‘Just Between Me and Jesus’ at La Biennale di Venezia in Venice, Italy! A co-production between La Biennale di Venezia, Auckland Live, Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival, Perth Festival, Sydney Opera House, and commissioning partner Teater V, ‘Just Between Me and Jesus’ is a violent collision of beliefs, where ritual and ceremony dissolve in an acid baptism. An electric performance of queer celebration that ruptures through the Catholic church. A work that interrogates the rub of two antonymous worlds, while harmonising on their share of cult and community. ‘Just Between Me and Jesus’ exaggerates and magnifies the inner guttural toilings of Christian-raised queer kids, and paints in lucid colour the catastrophic feelings of entropy and ecstasy as they abandon religion and adopt queer faith. Imagined through a medley of movement styles from ballroom, waacking, and vogue fem, paying homage to the sweaty and rhinestoned havens of the rave. Catholic iconography butts up against booming techno soundtracks of sonic club icons Underworld and LFO. This satirical and campily decorated work invites the latex-adjourned club kid and the virginal saint to pash under cross-fire. Over the past 8 months, this mighty team has been working tirelessly, pouring every ounce of creativity, queerness, and aroha into bringing this vision to life. Tonight, we give birth to something unholy yet divine. A loud queerness that we would die for. A merging of the heavens and hells. I couldn’t be prouder of this team.
