POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In between trying to get the perfect pics with my 2 point and shoot disposable film cameras (which I’ll be posting soon) I got the honor of seeing WWII veteran @secretagentjackww2 speak about his incredible story and also see 2 lady riveters talk about how they helped build ships in WWII not to mention a lovely parade and of course the re-enactment itself! It was a fantastic day of honoring the many men and women who were so brave and gave their lives to the war and I am grateful I got to be there to show my appreciation. I look forward to next year! ❤️🫡

“DO SOMETHING! I don’t know what, BUT DO SOMETHING!” - Jack Boeki, 102 yr old Holocaust survivor. 🫡

This Sukkot the reminder of how temporary life is, is hitting me stronger than ever.

This is OUR time people of God! LET’s DO SOMETHING!

I know there are plenty of us out there, and growing, who won’t be the silent “believers” ever again!

The world will know we are His true followers, 👆His shema-ers, by our LOVE! LOVE first & foremost for Him, AND for ONE ANOTHER!

This is our time! Let’s do the one thing that will never fail!

Shy 15-year-old Jack Boeki and his family survived the Rotterdam bombings after Germany invaded Holland in 1940. When mounting restrictions on Jews were imposed, followed by raids, terror and deportation, Jack was determined to avoid capture and became a fugitive. He was hunted like an animal, but he always stayed just one step ahead of the Nazis. With each narrow escape, the threat of capture increased.

Eventually he was caught and put on a transport train headed to a death camp. When the train stopped in Amsterdam, he escaped and ended up on a farm outside Paris. There, he met a U.S. Office of Strategic Services operative who needed Jack's help to re-establish communication with the resistance units and downed Allied pilots.

Jack's final escape landed him in England and then to the United States where he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned to their secretive Counterintelligence Corps. Just two days after the D-Day landings, Jack and his team of agents began following the U.S. advance fighting forces that liberated France. The once timid schoolboy, now a fierce interrogator, was instrumental in ferreting out many high-ranking Nazis, Gestapo agents, and other war criminals. In recognition of his service, Agent Boeki was awarded the Purple Heart, the Normandy Campaign Medal, and the Falaise Medal.

After the war, Jack returned to Holland and learned that entire generations of his family had been murdered in the Sobibor death camp. With his family gone, he decided to leave the reminders of the horrors of war behind and headed to Canada with friends to start a new life.

@michelledor and @rebeccapencer attended a special book signing in Toronto for @secretagentjackww2, a 102-year-old Holocaust survivor.

Co-written with his daughter, “From Fugitive to Freedom” shares Jack’s experiences as a Jewish man in the Netherlands during the Second World War, as well as his experiences as a WWII veteran.

Thank you to @nlincanada for inviting us to this inspiring evening. It is our duty to continue listening to survivors’ stories and carrying their messages forward for future generations.

See the link in our bio to purchase Jack’s book, “From Fugitive to Freedom.”

I had the honor and privilege to participate yesterday at the private launch event for Jack Boeki's book: "From Fugitive to freedom - the amazing story of how a Holocaust survivor became a Nazi hunter"

Jack is 102 years old, went through the holocaust and was a secret agent for the USA during WWII.

His life is unbelievable!

He is a remarkable person!

I met him first 3 years ago when I heard his story during an evening where he spoke for over 2 hours straight!

A WWII veteran. A room of French schoolchildren, hanging on every word. And Jack Boeki telling it all in their own language. Some moments don’t need translation — but this one got even better because of it. Thank you @leshistoiressecretes for capturing this moment.
