Our FIRST "Sump Seafarer" results are here for #scumathon26 !

Jay and Dale of @jdinthesumpsea asked very nicely if they could break down this category into some *sub* categories, as we were all blown away by the breadth and quality of submissions! If you know our boys, you already know one cannot say no to their sweet little faces.

With Scumathon being a *celebration* of kitbashing first and foremost, this seemed like a great way to recognize and highlight the amazing submissions and the oodles of work that went into the crews, the crafts, the monsters, and the poor ol' gangers stuck out on the slimy subterranean seas. As such, **winners will be announced across a few posts this week** to ensure everyone gets proper recognition for their work!

First, we have our Single Model winners!

@sector_1244 snagged the gold with an excellent hard-hat deep sea ganger! "The greenstuff work makes the model even more immersive, and the attention to detail with the water-cooled gun and helmet made this a winner!"

@_magnus_painting grabs the silver with a bionic pirate Ogryn!

@whispering_fog picks up the bronze with a one-punch-prepared Orlock Sea Boss with the bionics to back it up!

@tabletop_ready and @marky_d_mark earned commended awards for their fearsome fighters as well!

@bimbleandbodge earns the gold for their boat that might just be big enough? "The amount of creativity on the build already makes it a standout before any paint goes on. We could look at it for hours and not notice every detail!"

@figuremyproject snags a silver with an awesome barge ferrying an entire crew into the fray!

@mundastories gets a bronze for an impressive multi-story ship prepared to play host for little rumble all on its own!

Congrats to all of our winners here for the excellent work! We'll be back with Squads and Sump Beasts next!

We've got our "Underhive Artwork" results for #scumathon26 from our pal @carl_r_johnston of Underhive Art fame! You already know Carl's work from his prolific output sprinkled across the Necromunda community, including but in no way limited to his work on @sump_city_radio , his character illustrations, multiple propaganda and other posters, gang portraits on @mundamanager, and more work all over and beyond!

From Carl:

"What a joy to see the creative ideas and unique uses of materials shown in this very freeform and open category to create an object within necromunda that has meaning and artistry! There were some truly creative and skilled entries making it very hard to select and rank winners, but here it is. Thanks again to the wonderful community for making the whole event amazing!

Gold Winner

I found this very visually striking. At first glance, it’s a fairly straightforward shrine, but the piece shows great understanding and competence with excellent composition and posing as well as fantastic use of lore-accurate symbolism, playing off the various religious theming in the setting. The narrative that was painted in its story fits exceptionally well. Sculpting is simple but fantastically executed, very clean and precise. A nice mix of parts and materials along with story telling and a visually imposing piece to take the gold. I can’t believe how close of a decision it was!

@Sector_1244
Silver Winner

Incredibly unique piece making the decision for gold tough! Very impressed with the creativity and use of materials here, and I love your idea with this. I love to see more unique out-of-the-box ideas being explored here, and Necromunda is an amazing setting for doing things like this that stretch your creativity and enrich your board and games. Well done to Sector for this build, I really love it.

@dexamongus
Bronze Winner

Wow! A very impressive and imposing build with a lot of great symbolism that ties into classic sci-fi and historical tropes. Well executed sculpting and lots of textual detailing that really give an Underhive feeling and mystery “forgotten story”. Again, this made it very difficult to rank the finalists. Well done.

We've got our #Scumathon25 "Hottest Hiver" winner right here!

Judged by community pillar @hivescumsteve of @sump_city_radio, this category focuses on the civilians, workers, everyday hivers, and non-combatants populating our favorite settings!

Steve has selected @mike_paintsminis's "Kurt the Sump Diver" for our gold winner!

Per Steve: "The inclusion of the work on the base and the upwards chain really elevates the converted mini (or should that be 'sinks it?) and immediately gives you story about where 'Kurt the Diver' is ('you've been down too long in the great sump sea' apparently.. ) and you have to wonder just how crazy he is to do that for a living.

Does he know something we don't about how to handle himself down in the depths of the sump so he doesn't get eaten by some massive monstrosity?

Does he have a side venture running a sushi bar?
There were some amazing entries into this category where clearly people spent a lot of time on them, but for me, as a non combat, 'Sump lyfe', hottest hiver mini, 'Kurt the diver' takes the win."

A huge thank you to Steve for his time and expertise in selecting a fantastic entry for the win! For the few of you who haven't, be sure to give Sump City Radio a listen as the show inspired this category through the colorful cast of personalities featured across the episodes of this long running podcast! Steve is also the host of "Sump Wars" and "SUMPCON" along with @tabletop_events_ltd, with last year's event being the largest Necromunda-centric gathering worldwide!

I also wanted to award a few entries in this stacked category with a "commended" callout for their excellent and thematic work!

-@hartzakjauna's "Alistair Vane - The Majordomo"
-@slothattax's "Gerald Newman the Bullet Merchant"
-@sector_1244's "The Wandering Doctor"
-@it.came.from.below's "Aegir 'I-Grade' Dock Servitor"
-@gucaminiatures's "Manuel Avastro, Owner of The Lady and The Ambot"

Thank you again to @hivescumsteve, to @girlgremmy for her illustration work, and to everyone who submitted the fun and flavorful work across this category!
