Still taking in everything from our 6th Annual Minds With Purpose Foundation Charity Basketball Tournament, Opening 5K & Bookbag Giveaway. 🏀❤️ This was my first year being part of the tournament’s six-year journey, and it was incredible to see it all come together. A full day of basketball, music, wellness, giveaways, vendors, and community — all centered around creating a memorable experience for the kids and families who came out. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible: ⭐️ Eastern Bank Foundation for sponsoring and funding the jerseys. 🏀 NBNet Basketball for donating the basketballs 🎶 Change the Play for bringing the music and energy 💧 Reading Cooperative Bank for keeping everyone hydrated 🎒 Chase Bank for providing backpacks and school supplies for the kids ☘️ Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation for donating the signed Celtics basketball for our giveaway 🤝 And every vendor, volunteer, partner, sponsor, and committee member who gave their time, energy, and resources to make the day possible. Creative production will teach you very quickly: the plan can change, the standard? Cannot! Over the last few months, we’ve casted, coached, rehearsed, marketed, rebuilt, redirected & problem-solved our way toward this room. A venue changed, the date was pushed out. Even the runway changed! What started as a square runway will now meet you in a traditional runway format. That’s show business. Sometimes the universe throws a wrench directly into the production schedule and your job? Is to know how to alchemize it into something better. 🔥 artistry was never created from perfectionism it was created from experience and truthfully? This might’ve been exactly what our client needed. Through every pivot, Nohely Roman of @deseosbyroman kept designing, building and protecting the vision behind this experience . Tomorrow at 6PM, we finally get to watch that work leave the rack and meet the runway, alongside our additional Haitian designer, Liza founder of @liza__clothing, live performance, dance choreography and the models who have worked incredibly hard to bring it all to life. And Digital Souk? THIS is what happens before the lights turn on ✨🫶🏽 Most people see a models + a show. What they don’t see are the months of decisions, emotional conversations, assessments, coaching, casting, production meetings, designer revisions, creative risks, & trust required to bring one vision into a room. Sunday was our first official rehearsal for the @deseosbyroman Afro Fashion Experience. 17 models & a runway unlike anything currently being built in Boston. A designer bold enough to try something different & team willing to do the work behind the scenes.🫶🏽 The most interesting part? Nobody was practicing a walk. They were practicing presence, energy, professionalism, bc the runway is telling a story & it’s about communication.🤌🏽 Can you command attention without asking for it? The answers were way more revealing than we expected. 👀 I asked our models one question: What do you want to embody when you step onto the runway? Nobody said prettier, skinnier or perfect. They said confidence. Presence. Control. Authenticity. Purpose. Which makes me wonder… If a runway simply reveals more of who you already are, what exactly are you practicing every day?
