SUMMER TRAINING STARTS TOMORROW! Tomorrow morning at 7 am, we kick off Saturday training! All paces and abilities are welcome!! Our theme is BLUE! So get out those AREC shirts (or something similar!). 👕👕👕👕 Tomorrow, our distances are 3.5 and 5 miles and Dona and Tom are doing our water station! Thank you @mcbride5877 and @artbydmcbride !!! We meet in front of the San Pedro Fish Market on Marina Drive in Long Beach and will have some snacks and drinks for before and after our run. We’ll be selling some AREC gear so you can start the season off strong (hats, shirts, Goodor sunglasses, visors, buffs, backpacks, duffel bags, coffee mugs) so bring cash or your Zelle! Afterwards, we’ll do a little celebrating for the start of the season! We’ll have some goodies and a little music. Bring a chair and bring something to share! See everyone tomorrow morning! . . . #runners #runnershigh #runlongbeach #longbeach #lbc

After the marathon, I felt great and found us an awesome short hike in Papago Park, which is next to the Phoenix Zoo. Tiffany and I hiked to the hole in the rock, a beautiful formation, which is thought to have been used by the ancient Hohokam civilization to track the position of the sun through a hole in the rock “ceiling.” After the hike, we had a great Mexican dinner with some adult beverages. We ended the evening with swimming and spa at our hotel and our bodies feel great. Grateful for a wonderful weekend with friends. #runners #marathoners #hiking

Yo, yo, Sacramento, things got a little messy in Mesa! 😜 Grateful and happy to let you that I finished my 17th marathon in 4:02:56, slower than I wanted, but we started 25 minutes late due to the buses and stood in the rain. I ran through rain almost the entire time and splashed through puddles, so my body didn’t want to speed up, but I never stopped for the entire time I ran. I ran and smiled, thought of fighting hard to finish for my kids, as we’re not quitters in our family. I also thought of my dad, who always smiles upon me from Heaven. A million thanks to the organizers, the volunteers, and the spectators, who had so much fun whenever I shouted “like a savage” - great entertainment. My body felt great and finished with a kick and big smile just as the sun came out. And last, but not least, many congrats to my awesome friend and roommate this weekend Tiffany, who PRed in her half marathon. Also, many congrats to Youa, my speedy Arete friend and teammate, who also PRed! The course is good, but none of us thought it was that fast. Happy feet! Thanks so much for all your cheering! My gratitude post to follow! #runner #marathoner #runarete #runaretesac #savageninja
