So I met ReRe of Yarn Over Hooks a few months back at my LYS and had a great chat about all things crochet! At Fiber Fest I got to chat with the team and even played a game to win a pair of super cute granny square earrings that Alexis made! I met Sammi too! I’ll tell yall later about how ReRe personally escorted me to their booth 😂

Fiber friends are some of the best friends! (Do yall all want to be tagged?)

Stunnin sleeves Megan! Thank you for helping me!

Okay, so two years in a row now I’ve been able to fan girl! Yall I met Sarah! 😁😁 Some of my students took her class and said so many amazing things about her. Yall she is so good! I awkwardly asked for her digits so now we’re friends 💁🏽‍♀️

Hey look who found me!

❤️ ONE HAT AT A TIME, WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE. ❤️

Here's what I love most about the Crochet Cancer Challenge…

It's not about one person doing something BIG. It's about a community of people each doing something small. One crocheter makes one hat... Another crocheter makes one hat... And another... And another... Until those individual hats become THOUSANDS of hats made with love for people affected by cancer.❤️

That is the power of this community.

When we crochet together, our small acts of kindness become something much bigger than any one of us could accomplish alone. And YOU can be part of it!

That's it. One hat can be your contribution to something truly meaningful.

You can find all the details for this year's challenge in the main blog post:
https://sweetpotato3.com/crochet-cancer-challenge-2026/

A HUGE thank-you to a few of this year's amazing designers who are helping make this Challenge possible:

THROWING IT BACK TO BINGO NIGHT @dfwfiberfest
.
Danny the bingo man might not have been on our same level. And none of our table’s cards were lucky, but the best thing I won is the company of fellow yarnies.

Crochet yourself some beautiful purple baskets.

@sekhandmade used Woolstok North in two colors to make this beginner friendly basket. This pattern is designed to teach working crochet in the round and is appropriate for crocheters who have a good understanding of the single crochet stitch.

Pick two colors of Woolstok North and make yourself some practical home decor. These baskets are excellent for storage or gift giving.

I came. I learned. I lost all financial restraint. Took some amazing classes, learned a ton, met some incredible fiber people, and then proceeded to shop like yarn was being discontinued forever.

Did I need all of this? Absolutely not.
Do I regret it? Also absolutely not. #DFWFiberFest #DFWFiberFest2026 #YarnHaul #YarnAddict #CrochetAddict
