DJ Bone - "Cultural Variance" I had to end this takeover with one of my favorite songs of all time. This song feels like a spiritual awakening and I’m overcome with emotion every time I hear it. To be emotionally drawn to tears from a track with no vocal or lyrical contributions is a track of power. The only other time I experienced that was the first time I heard ‘Knight of the Jaguar’. DJ Bone is a sorcerer of production and there’s very few who create such hypnotizing tracks that leave you volleying between dancing and just wanting to stand still to get into every little detail about the track. Everything about this song is sheer excellence to me. The wet & choppy 4/4 rhythm, the tempo, the African chants looming over, this is what I describe as an audible manifestation of a shrine. A calling to the ancestors, a conversation with the most divine, a purging of unwarranted energy and a warm embrace of spirit and soul. This is where music is healing. -Sekucci @djbone313 @sekucci #blacktechnomatters #techno #blacktechno #blacktechnomatters #blackart #blackartist #blackartmatters #blackhistory

Shinedoe - "Artificial Era" Shinedoe is one of the greatest discoveries I’ve found in techno and I say that sternly. There's an understanding of the soul of techno that I have only seen effectively invigorated through black artists and it's to be expected because they are the pioneers of it. Shinedoe has her share of flowers regarding the uprise of women in the scene and genre. A lot of my sound is drawn from the sensuality she pours into her tracks. ‘Artificial Era’ epitomizes the intersection of spirituality, sensuality, and introspection in techno. I want to be in tune with all parts of my body and mind when I listen to it. I feel so validated in my femininity and vulnerability and sexiness when I melt away into this eclectic groove of layered hi-hats. This track shows that even when techno is stripped to its most minimal elements, it still manages to express something so full and impactful. -Sekucci @shinedoe_artist @sekucci #blacktechnomatters #techno #blacktechno #blacktechnomatters #blackart #blackartist #blackartmatters #blackhistory

Sam Alfred - "No Standin” Acknowledging the past, reveling in the present, and keeping a frame of mind for the future, I strongly believe that Sam Alfred is the present and future of electronic music. Holistically, I really love what the artists are doing down in Australia, with a sound I can only really describe as wet and bouncy and I feel the framework of a lot of high energy/peak hour techno, house, or electronic tracks have a wet and bouncy texture to it. I stumbled across this song on SoundCloud during my lunch breaks and I couldn’t wait to get home so I could carry in my room listening to it. This song invokes a little energizer bunny in me, I can't help but to bounce to it and whenever I play it, it always gets the crowd jumping. Can't wait to experience one of his sets in person. -Sekucci @samalfredd @sekucci #blacktechnomatters #techno #blacktechno #blacktechnomatters #blackart #blackartist #blackartmatters #blackhistory
