You heard about Everlane selling out to Shein and you want to wear one of a kind pieces that mean something and didn’t exploit workers on their way to hanging in your closet… maybe it’s time to took your mom’s old sewing machine in for a tune up and start learning.

3 Tips for Beginning Your #Sewing Journey
1. YouTube ~ learn everything you need to know from how to thread your machine to how to make a French seam.

2. Thrift your fabric ~ lots of secondhand stores have a craft section and every thrift store has bedsheets and curtains. Bedsheet sewing is where it’s at.👌

3. Indie patterns are an amazing learning tool and many come with companion blog or video sew-along tutorials. (Just keep an eye out for AI patterns starting to clutter up Etsy. It’s a lot of work to assemble cut and sew a pattern for an untested garment.)

Want to see more DIY fashion? I share all my homemade style attempts from sewing jackets out of old jeans to carding my own sheep wool. Follow for more and we’ll learn together!

10 things I’ve been loving this summer☀️✨
These are all items I’ve been using and wearing over and over🧡 some of them are years old and some of them newer, all earning a spot on this month’s top 10🥰

🔗TEN for all outfit deets and links to be sent right over to ya!🔗

1. Crocs sandals—true to size. I wear my true size 6. I also just ordered the black.
 2. Old Navy tanks—I wear size small. I must have it in 5-6 colors and also own and love the tee shirt version too (which I also have in lots of colors—also linked!)
3. Denim shorts—a cute light wash (dream blue) and comfy with a bit of stretch. They’re a mid-rise. I wear size 00.
4. Prescription sunglasses—I got these last year and they have changed my life! Less headaches, so cute, and it’s great to see. If you don’t need prescription, Sojos has an identical pair.
5. Large triangle scarf—I have two colors. the K8-milky White Flower Cluster and K18-green Underwater Plants. Both so cute on your waist, and around your neck!
6. Athletic shorts—Love these navy shorts. I sized down to xxs (due to reviews) and it’s comfy. True to size would have been fine too (xs).
7. Beaded necklace—I’ve had this double layered beaded necklace for years and it’s so colorful and fun!
8. Snackle box—My snack tray is a mom must-have! We bring it everywhere!
9. Curling iron—I’ve had a 3 barrel curling iron since high school and have always loved using it. It recently broke so I purchased a new one and it works great. I like to do the top half of my hair with this 3/4” inch curling iron (that I own in two other sizes too—my favorite! I also have the 1” and 1.5 inch) for a more natural look.
10. Little white cotton top—Wearing xs in this little white top. It sold out from gap factory, but Quince has an almost identical one I’ll link (doesn’t have the eyelet on the bottom, but very similar otherwise).
Bonus: printed mini skirt— wearing xs in this cute wrap skirt! Love the neutral print and how comfy it is. It’s also 100% cotton (and so is my cute button front top which I also linked-xs!).
