My dear friend Selima was inducted into the Accessories Council Hall of Fame last week. It was an incredible night celebrating her and her influence on the eyewear industry. Her light is so bright it is palpable. You can’t help but feel it.

I introduced her to my dad earlier this year knowing that she would love to hear about his curated vintage sunglasses collection and his plan to create a sculptural gown out of it. One thing led to another and she ended up giving him a vintage dress form that had been stored in the basement of her Bond 07 store in SoHo as the base. She signed and kissed it and then my dad worked throughout the year to create this masterpiece out of his collection.

The sculpture was unveiled at the Accessories Council party honoring Selima and I couldn’t be more thrilled that it all came together in the way that it did. 🫶🏻 I am grateful for my husband Chris and kids who were okay rearranging our fall break to make it work to come support Selima and my dad. @hkregharrison @selimaoptique @selimasalsa @karen.giberson @accessoriescouncil @sydniebanks
