Last night, Sonic Territories 2026 opened around a shared table.

A huge thank you to Chris & Momo for the wonderful dinner, and to everyone who joined us for the first evening of the festival. The River Mouth was about gathering, eating, listening and beginning the week together — and we couldn’t have asked for a better start.

We look forward to opening the conversation around this year’s theme, Where Water Gathers, with the collective exhibition Liquid Resonance at Wasserturm Favoriten.

Water connects us in ways we rarely notice. At a time when its future is becoming increasingly uncertain, Liquid Resonance invites us to think about water not only as a resource, but as something that reveals how deeply our lives are connected.

Through sound, installation, and moving image, the exhibition explores different ways of experiencing this connection. The Wasserturm is not simply the setting for these works—it becomes part of them, transforming the building into a space where art, architecture, and visitors come together in a shared experience.

The exhibition brings together works by Daria Savytska and Jakob Liu Wächter, Janine Jop, Markus Steiner, Selin Karaman, Tim Löhde, and Yvo Kaufmann, with an opening performance by Magdalena Forster.

Last Saturday, Sonic Territories’ new space at Otto Wagner Areal opened with 𝑯𝒚𝒅𝒓𝒐𝑵𝒐𝒊𝒔𝒆: 𝑩𝒐𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 / 𝑭𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑵𝒐𝒊𝒔𝒆, a workshop and collective performance by DeeeVeee, created together with participants through a shared process of listening, experimentation, and collective sound-making.

Together, they created a temporary field of water, noise, voices, bodies, and vibration 💧🔊🌱🪾

Thank you to everyone who came, listened, participated, and shared this first day in the space with us, despite the intense heat. 🧊

With deep thanks to DeeeVeee, all workshop participants, LT.art Vienna, Katarzyna Bitowt, curator of LT.art Vienna, and Sonic Territories, with Mimie Maggale, for bringing this collaboration into the new space, @selin00aside and @manermusic for tech support, @zlpv for workshop coordination, Daria Savytska @dashugar___ for photo documentation, and everyone who helped bring this first event to life❤️‍🔥

‘SPKS pres. That Sound’ is a new party series that focuses on curating harmonious line-up’s which bring new sounds to Vienna. 🪩🪩🪩🪩🪩

For our first party we are inviting Heimlich Maneuver from Berlin: her Global Bass sound brings heat to the dancefloor, as experienced in Räuber:innenhöhle at Fusion Festival 2024.
Since a well rounded line-up is essential to ‘That Sound’ the Coop Audio crew from Bristol will play an extended warm-up set and bring us ‘That UK Sound!’.
For closing-duties none other than old school junglista Justus Kaya comes in to be the cherry on top for a night full of energy, bass and mind-altering tunes!

Come and party with us at Flucc Deck & most importantly: just have fun & respect each other!!
