Spring market season in Perth has begun! 🌼🛍️ It’s been amazing connecting with the community and other local stallholders at our first few markets, including @summerxsalt earlier this month as well as @kalamundanightmarket and @marketlifeau’s Markets @ the Quay on the weekend. Check out our ‘Dates’ highlight or the ‘Markets’ page on our website for the upcoming Perth markets you can find us at. I'm so excited to share the rebrand of this little business – welcome to the world @selkiesocial! 🌑✨ Formerly Farai Creative, I embarked on the rebranding process to bring Selkie Social to life a few months ago with the help of @moonselfstudio (thanks so much Steph for the branding and creative direction, I couldn't have dreamed up anyone better for the job). The name is inspired by the mythical selkie, who can shapeshift from seal to human, commonly found in Celtic and Norse folktales. I chose the name because of the endless parallels between selkie stories and my experience working in social media and content marketing, as well as the way it ties me to my deep ancestral roots in Ireland. I'm sure I'll write a detailed post in the future. The website is now live, with a few little tasks for me to do (bear with me) – when there are 5 mistakes it's not ready, but when there are 9, it is... isn't that right?! Link in my bio if you want to check it out, or you can visit selkiesocial.com 🤍 I'm so excited for this new chapter in this business to begin. Thank you endlessly to my clients for the support, understanding, and shared excitement about the rebrand. Selkie Social exists for you and because of you. Now let’s make some waves 🦭

2021, I’m a bit late on my goodbye but I feel like that fits with the vibe. Congrats on being the weirdest year of my life so far. More trips to the south west than imaginable. Stargazing and moon watching. Videos. Designing, scheduling. Booked up to my eyeballs. Plenty of cuddles. Taylor Swift. Bo Burnham. Shifting through trauma. Navigating leadership. Yearning. Painting walls. Planting seedlings. Creating. Waiting. I’m happy to welcome another beginning whenever I can take one 🌑 Hello, 2022! Any to you: thanks so much for all your support as I drifted through this era of my life. Here’s to reclaiming our directions, focusing our efforts, and finding the inner silence to make it happen. Remember — as long as you’re learning, you’re not failing. I think I know what 2022 has lined up for me, and it’s gonna be pure magic. So excited that you’re along for the ride ✨💗🌏

MY BUSINESS JOURNEY (& Farai Creative’s Rebrand) // I started my business in 2018, harnessing my passion for all pillars of sustainability, as well as my background and studies in media, marketing, photography, and literature, to form a joyful and mindful marketing studio. I’m so honoured to have helped a couple of handfuls (if that!) of incredible businesses and people to share their creations with the world and cultivate their communities in the past 4 years so far. I’m not the type of business that has helped hundreds because, simply, social media and content marketing is (usually) a big project for any business, and an ongoing one. Not to mention, I love to work with my clients for a long time to really get to know their brand personality, voice, and become one with their marketing – and there’s only so much of my time to go around. As I became constantly booked out from 2020-2021, I wanted to share more educational resources (think guides, templates, courses!) so I could help more businesses more of the time, but one thing was holding me back: Farai Creative’s branding. I designed the brand in 2018 to be fun, bright and joyful, inspired by the colourful plants and animals I fell in love with while exploring our world 🌏 Although I’m a joyful person, the branding never felt like ‘me’. And because it didn’t feel aligned with my energy, I found it hard to: ✨ Post on social media ✨ Show up on stories ✨ Share content on my website (The irony as a social media manager, right?!) As Farai is one of my middle names, ‘Farai Creative’ also began to feel too personal to share as my business name, and too similar to the name of my personal/sustainability blog (Molly Farai). I realised that the business needs a name of its own… while still capturing my essence in the colours, typography, and imagery. Boom. Clarity. It’s time to rebrand. [CONTINUED IN COMMENTS] Molly sitting at beach smiling back at camera. Wearing ethical and secondhand jumper and jeans.

General life update 🌿 // I did some maths today and figured that I've probably spent about 80% of my 2020 indoors ☹️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For living in a city/state that only experienced a few weeks of lockdown earlier this year, I felt a duty towards the end of it to make the most of my freedoms and enjoy our beautiful natural spaces... except I didn't. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Frankly, @faraicreative has been doing really well this year and I've been working from 8-6 over there nearly every day... and that’s just on client projects 😶 Then, I'll be replying to messages here and writing my blog posts at any given chance, and then weekends has been the time I devote to friends and family. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's exciting to have experienced this expansion in my work in a time when anyone would expect it all to flop. It’s been beautiful but emotionally and creatively exhausting. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm so keen to take some time over Christmas (I’m pressing pause on so much as of today until mid January!) to recenter and reimagine my 2021, which I hope includes: 🏕 Spening more time outside 🎥 Showing up online in all the magical ways that I imagine 🌷 Continuing to bring all my business projects to life ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What about you? What has your 2020 looked like and how are you investing your time over the coming weeks? 💚👇

Sometimes you need to narrow your focus and do the things that you need to do. 🐚 With so much information, and noise, and bad news, take some time to immerse yourself in that which you need. 🌞 Then do something kind for another and that’s a great Sunday ocean lovers🌿 . 📸🧜🏻‍♀️ This post brought about by the pause, the kindness, and the skills of the wholly beautiful @mollyfarai @faraicreative

Hello! Molly here. It's been a month or two since we jumped on to check how things are going with our ethical community. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We hope you're feeling amazing, wherever you are, and that everything happening on our planet earth right now is only fuelling your fire to support ethical 💛 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Charlotte and I met up (in person!!) for the first time in what feels like a century last week and have plans to go ahead with a few of the meetups that we began to organise in January (little did we know what a ride 2020 would take us on!). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Stay tuned – we hope to be seeing your lovely faces again soon 🌟

Thank you to every one of you to showing up where you can, helping to support each other, and spreading the ethical message. We believe in you!
