The First XI welcomed @selmestoncc to Horsebridge Rec on another scorching day of heat.
The skipper lost the toss and we were put into bat.

The Loveland’s opened together but it was M.Loveland (0) who fell first with C.Loveland (114) combining with L.Harvey (16) at 3 to put on a 50 run partnership taking our total to 66-1 before Harvey was bowled to a sublime ball. M.Williams (28) supported Loveland who continued to excel with the bat and bring up his first century. Another huge partnership came before Williams was caught at point. Hellingly 167-3. A.Harvey (16) was in at 5 as we saw the end of an incredible innings by Loveland. H.Hamzakoya (1) was in at 6. In Hellingly fashion a collapse soon came with 4 wickets falling within 15 runs. A.Miller (3) and A.Alosious (0). Hellingly 200-8. G.Asokan (23) and V.Rose (11) put up some good runs towards the end of our innings and P.Kirk (0*) was left not out.

Selmeston and Alciston CC require 226

A.Harvey (0-27 off 9)opened with P.Kirk (2-19 off 7). The pair bowled brilliantly and kept the opening bats pegged back yet Harvey found no wickets Kirk was there to find the breakthroughs and after 16 overs they were 32-2. A.Miller (1-5 off 3) and V.Rose (1-18 off 6) bowled tight in the middle overs getting 2 wickets between them and restricting the bats once again. All bowlers bowled incredible reducing the runs and piling pressure onto the bats whose required run rate kept climbing. H.Hamzakoya (2-21 off 4) and A.Alosious (2-4 off 2) finished our innings with Selmeston only having nine bats.
Selmeston and Alciston CC 108 all out.

POTM- C.Loveland a superb batting innings bringing up his first century.

Another W for Sidley!

Sadly our 2s game was called off as Rye could not field a side. We take the points regardless!!

Meanwhile our 1s visited Selmeston & Alciston 1s, who posted a total of 142-6, with our special moment going to Pasha, taking 2 wickets!

In response Sidley comfortably chased the runs down, with Player of the Match Arif scoring 82 runs, with 54 of them coming from 6’s!

Nice to continue our winning ways! Long may it continue! 🏏💙
