Caught @deadlypreygallery pop-up at Selva in Bushwick. Amazing surreal movie poster art that reminds me of when I was in kindergarten listening to older kids at recess tell me about the movies they had seen on late nights without parental supervision. Everything back in those days was distorted, exaggerated, out-of-context, and full of wonderful embellishments. Most the time I liked an elder 2nd grader’s retelling of the movie better than the movie, once I finally got to see it. I can’t get enough of this Ghanian painter’s reimagining of US pop-culture and cinema. Had to get a Holy Mountain print and a bunch of movie stickers for Heat, Pee’s Big Adventure, Pink Flamingos, Style Wars, Purple Rain, and the Godfather Art by Farkira #movieposters #vhsboxart #ghanianartist
