THE DOUBLE DUMBBELL DEVIL PRESS 🔥

A burpee combined with a ground-to-overhead movement using two dumbbells. It challenges your whole body, combining strength, coordination and conditioning.

HOW TO DO IT 👇

▪️Start with two dumbbells on the floor, holding the handles.
▪️Step or jump your feet back and lower your chest to the floor between the dumbbells.
▪️Push yourself back up, then step or jump your feet forward into a stable stance.
▪️With a braced core and flat back, swing the dumbbells back between your legs.
▪️Drive through your legs and extend your hips to bring both dumbbells overhead in one continuous movement.
▪️Finish standing tall, arms locked out and dumbbells controlled overhead.
▪️Lower with control and reset for the next rep.

COACHING POINTS 👊

✅ Use your legs and hips to generate power.
✅ Keep the dumbbells close as they travel upwards.
✅ Finish overhead with your ribs down — avoid leaning back through your lower back.
✅ Choose a weight you can control throughout every rep.

WHY WE USE IT 💪

It works your legs, glutes, chest, shoulders and trunk while driving your heart rate up. Managing your pace and maintaining technique become a real challenge as the reps build.

At CommandoFit Bristol, we break down the movement and adapt the weight and burpee to suit your ability. Build confidence with the technique, then build the intensity.

BAR MUSCLE UPS 💪🔥

A bar muscle up takes you from hanging beneath the bar to supporting yourself above it, finishing with your arms straight.

It combines three key stages:
✅ The pull — pulling yourself high enough to get your chest towards and over the bar.
✅ The transition — bringing your shoulders above the bar as your wrists turn over.
✅ The press — pushing yourself up to finish with straight arms.

You’ll work your back, shoulders, arms, chest and core, developing upper-body strength, grip, coordination and body control.

Kipping muscle ups use a controlled swing and hip drive to help create upward momentum. Strict muscle ups remove that swing and demand more pulling and pressing strength.

Working towards your first one? We coach the foundations, from controlled swings and strong pull-ups to transition drills and straight-bar dips. Progressions for your level, with coaching throughout 👊

I built Fit For The Pit because I want to support the people chasing their dreams in music.

Being an artist is about so much more than what happens on stage. There’s the pressure, the uncertainty, the sacrifices and the reality of trying to make a living doing something you love.

Touring can take a lot out of you. And when you’re constantly giving everything to your music, looking after yourself can easily fall to the bottom of the list.

I wanted to create something that could genuinely help.

A way to support artists with their fitness and wellbeing, built around the reality of their lives rather than expecting their lives to fit around a programme.

Because I want to do more than watch people chase their dreams. I want to help them get there.

That’s what Fit For The Pit means to me.

And we’re only getting started. 🖤
