Inspired by my attendance last evening at New York City Center for the opening night of their annual Fall For Dance Festival, where I was thrilled to witness live A.I.M. by Kyle Abraham's troop performance of "In the act of undoing", Skylar Brandt & Aran Bell performing Lair D'Esprit and then Martha Graham Dance Company's stunning "Cortage". The evening was a great opportunity to experience and explore the world of Dance from Classical Ballet to Modern Dance.

Here is footage of a demonstration of the proper technique for performing "le Grand Jeté".

A grand jeté is a big ballet leap where a dancer throws one leg forward, pushes off the floor with the other, hits a split position in the air, and lands safely on the front leg.

Definition: The term means "big throw".
Action: It is a wide, high traveling leap.
Split: The dancer throws one leg forward and kicks the other back, creating a full split position while suspended in midair.
Use: It is an advanced, dramatic move performed across the stage during large jumping combinations (grand allegro).

A good method to train petit allegro after injuries or as a beginner!
You get the strength and control and the water supports you very good.
Have you tried it already?
Let me know in the comments💖🩰
And your guessings of course😉🫶
