Anyone looking for something to do Saturday come check out the seaford boys in their band REBAR playing your favorite metal covers and originals… must see for Metallica fans!!! they played this show a year ago and how far they’ve come amazes me everyday.. they’re scheduled to play 4:30-5:15 but I’m sure we’ll be down there ahead of time.. come on down, bring a chair bring some drinks and hang out.. would love to see some old friends/teachers come check it out and see Thomas doing his passion.. and the joy it brings out in him and of course I’ll be there!!!

So proud of my boy on lead guitar, he doesn’t have the long hair so only the bangs are moving.. but love that him and his friends decide to load up equipment and play in the park.. love seeing him follow his passion and can’t wait to be standing at the back of the club while they play beaming with pride while trying not to embarrass him ♥️🤘🏻🎸

CONGRATULATIONS, MY LOVE...

9 years ago, my wife was supposed to take her Brown Belt test. I never wanted anyone in the dojo to think that anyone in my family was given anything, any easier because they were my family. So I made everything harder for my wife, and my children. Partially because I wanted them to go through the training and ranks the “old way”

We got married, and my first born, was a honeymoon baby, so we couldn’t do the test then. Then another child, then life kinda got in the way, and she wasn’t getting in the required “mat time.” We train a lot at home, and my wife is often my training partner for skills I’m still learning and practicing. She often teaches our children when I’m working, and they have extra energy that need focusing. Needless to say her training and effort has been constant. You can’t live in my house and not train on some level, daily.

In recent years, she helps me teach at the dojo, and even covers my classes, if needed, when something comes up last minute. And, it makes me so happy to see how well received she is by the students in the dojo. She’s got an awesome personality, and the perfect blend of “strict and fun” Instructor. When she gives students pep talks, or coaches them, she has got a really amazing way about her. It reminds me of some of the reasons why I fell in love with her.

In our home, in our family, we are WARRIOR CLASS. Just about everything we do in our home and in our family, is somehow influenced by the Bushido Code, the Way of the Warrior... respect, kindness, compassion, integrity, bravery, loyalty, humility, diligence... and a bit of “badassery.”

Congratulations, my love on being an exemplary role model of all the we, as Warriors, parents, instructors, and business owners, stand for. The Brown Belt is long overdue. Now we set the goal for BLACK BELT.
I love you, and I’m so proud of all that you are, and continue to become.

Here are my New Year’s Eve plans, right here.
Paige is almost a year old. I was recently lamenting over what a terrible year 2020 was. I was having a pity party and really just venting out loud, while bouncing my baby girl on my knee...

I looked down and realized that 2020 was one of my best years ever. While it’s is tattered and torn, checkered with defeats... It brought me my second Warrior Princess. Once I realized what a blessing Paige isC I thought of all the other great things that 2020 brought as well.

In retrospect, it’s all about PERSPECTIVE.
Happy and Healthy 2021 to all. I don’t think any magic wand will correct the world. And I still think we should keep our seatbelts buckled for the coming year. Pray for the best, prepare for the rest. Count the blessings.

Sunday School...

The last few Sunday’s, I’ve been teaching my kids how to build fires in the fireplace. We start by looking for big trees that likely have sticks and twigs which will make good tinder. We look for dried leaves and bark, which help build a nest of hair-like tinder to get it started. Each week we use a different combustion method. Lighter, fire steel... this week matches.

I love seeing them learn survival skills, and at the same time understand how dangerous it could be, if they are irresponsible with their skills. We use the fire for light, and heat. Soon we’ll start learning how to cook over it.
