A mix of film + digital for Caroline and Christian’s day in Chicago 🎞️🖤 we had joy, we had mood, and were literally jumping for joy after officially tying the knot. It was the best day with these two and their closest family and friends 🫶🏼

Checking in. Choosing to live life every day is inherently optimistic.

Also, my beard has never been longer and I didn’t know I had it in me. Feel free to touch next time you see me for the low cost of one dirty martini.

Some recent cocktail favs 🍸

@elchechicago mezcal lovers - this one is for you. the perfect balance of smokey and citrus.

@sepiachicago famous cheeseburger martini. 🍔 this was super pickle forward and I loved it.

@pizz.amici every cocktail we tried on the menu was absolutely incredible. the dirty martini and the margarita verde were super flavorful and savory.

@mirurestaurant you can’t go wrong with a lychee martini and this one was almost too pretty to drink.

@lemistral.chicago i loved every cocktail i tried at Le Mistral BUT i’ve continued to think about this espresso martini and the skinnnnnny glass.

@gibsonssteakhouse one of the only restaurants that will make a pickle martini which is a big win. it’s always delicious.

Each Monday, we look back at one of our Michelin dining adventures.

Sepia is one of those Chicago restaurants we continue to return to because it is consistently excellent. The food and service are always on point, and while it is absolutely fine dining, it manages to feel both polished and incredibly comfortable.

It is also one of those rare restaurants that works for almost any occasion. A celebration, a family meal, a business dinner where you actually want to have a conversation, it all works at Sepia.

We especially love it as a place to take younger diners. It is polished and refined, but comfortable enough that introducing them to a tasting menu and new flavors feels
completely natural. It is exactly the kind of fine dining experience we have always enjoyed sharing as a family.
The consistency we experience at Sepia does not change.

Unfortunately, we don’t live in Chicago, so we don’t make it to Sepia nearly as often as we would like. But it is a restaurant we recommend again and again to anyone traveling to Chicago. And quite frankly, if we lived there, we would be at Sepia a lot more often.

Chicago's best steak tartare? Our editors' verdict: it's this one, at Sepia in the West Loop.

The dish: ruby-red hand-cut beef under a slab of crisp beef-fat toast — nasturtium leaves, pickled red onion, aioli, a snowfall of grated cheese.

The room: 123 N Jefferson St. Michelin star, 15 years running. Four courses, $125. Chicago Mag (2024): after 17 years, "Sepia just keeps humming." The Infatuation: 8.5.

The catch: it rotates — not on the printed menu right now. Ask for it.
