Our sequoia trip in a nutshell 🧡

@autocamp sequoia truly has it all. We wanted to be in nature, but with a toddler and a dog, we already had enough stuff to lug around. Autocamp has everything ready to go. They even gave us a bag full of goodies for Ruby 🐕 and had a pack n play for us in our room.

It definitely feels like luxury in the woods. We basically just packed as if we were going to a hotel (+ food to cook by the fire).

There were tons of families, and we all felt like a little community by the end of the weekend.

They also have activities every night, and if you don’t feel like cooking, they have a kitchen you can order from (b*mb pizza 🍕).

This has become a tradition for us every year, and so many amazing memories have been made for us here.

If you’re looking for a family and dog friendly vacation in nature close to LA, this is it. ✨

If you’re planning a Sequoia National Park trip, I highly recommend saving this peaceful escape for your visit! ✨🌿

This is The Evergreen House by @sequoia_stays (check them out to find the links to this house + their other stays near Sequoia!)

It’s located in Three Rivers, and less than a 10-minute drive from the Ash Mountain entrance to Sequoia. A super convenient option if you’re not staying in the park!

The house is cozy, peaceful, beautifully designed, equipped with plenty of thoughtful amenities, and surrounded by beautiful nature 🕯️🌲

The outdoor shower and tub was my favorite part!

Sequoia National Park with kids is absolutely worth it 🌲 but timing matters.

These are 3 stops I would NOT save for the end of the day when everyone’s tired, hungry, and one uphill walk away from a full family meltdown 😂

General Sherman? Must-see — just remember that walk back up.
Crescent Meadow? Gorgeous — better with fresh legs.
And “just one more trail”? Famous last words.

Save this for your Sequoia National Park family trip and send it to whoever is planning the itinerary. 👀

Why we love it:
You’re surrounded by giant sequoias without making little legs work too hard. EXTREMELY STROLLER FRIENDLY

Parent tip:
The shorter accessible route to General Sherman is paved, gently sloped and specifically listed by NPS as suitable for strollers, wheelchairs and walkers. In summer, the park shuttle can help you access this area.

Perfect when:
The kids are tired but you still want one more incredible view.

NPS describes the approach as a short, sloped, paved trail to the granite overlook.

⚠️ Not my first choice with a stroller.
The trail is only partially paved, so bring a carrier if you want to explore farther.

Mom tip:
Start here, use the bathroom, explore the museum and then walk toward Big Trees Trail.

NPS has a paved accessible network around the museum, including a paved connection toward Big Trees Trail.

If I only had one day in Sequoia National Park with kids, these are the stops I’d prioritize. 🌲👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Easy trails, giant trees, incredible views — without completely exhausting the kids. 😂

Why do people hug trees? 🌲 Turns out, there may be a reason it feels so good.

While visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in California, I hugged some of the ancient giant sequoias—and suddenly, I understood the tree huggers. 😂

There’s something about standing beneath trees that have been here for thousands of years that makes you slow down, breathe deeper, and realize just how small we are.

Maybe connecting with nature really is something we need more of. 🌲🤍

✨ The Frida Collection Auction Begins ✨

For the past 31 days, I’ve had the joy of painting Frida every single day. Some days she found herself in my garden, other days she traveled to Thailand, wandered through the Sequoias, rested by the sea, or simply sat quietly with the animals. This little project became so much more than a painting challenge. It reminded me how healing it is to simply show up and create.

Today I’m sharing the collection with you.

Every painting is an original and the bidding for each one begins at $100. I’m posting the collection in two parts, and the paintings are numbered. If you’d like to bid, simply comment with the painting number and your bid beneath this post.

100% of the proceeds will go to Thrive Animal Rescue, a rescue that is very close to my heart. We adopted Seva from them !!They give abandoned and neglected dogs a second chance through love, medical care, and finding wonderful forever homes.

The auction is open now and will close five days from today at 8:00 PM Pacific Time.

If you’re outside California, I’m happy to ship your painting. I’ll simply ask the winning bidder to cover the shipping cost. Each painting is just the painting or drawing not the frame . The framed ones are just to show examples of how you can display your art..

Day25: Frida and the waterfall ……Today Pete and I wandered through giant sequoias, waterfalls, wildflowers, and mountain streams. Back at the cabin, I made this simple sketch.
