So endlessly proud of WONG SIDE OF TIME. I couldn’t imagine a better show as my first original musical directing credit. Thank you to everyone in the company for giving your heart and talent to bring this to life: 11 cast members, a 4-piece band, and hours behind the scenes from the creatives and Team Epheverie to make this possible. Together we brought a 2 hour, time-bending new musical to life! I hope I’m lucky enough to direct shows about rebellious queer Asian women forever. Thanks for the words, Scarlett. 🦋

Swipe to the end for the BTS as always - company dinners, sitzprobe, Raine’s birthday, impromptu prod meetings in the street, wig realness, and more!

Words cannot describe how much love I have for this production and everyone who brought it to life. ❤️‍🔥

Writing an original Asian and queer musical with Wren had already exceeded my wildest dreams. And getting to make it with this group of people has been the best experience of my theater life so far. ✨

Developing a new musical is a labor of love, and I have never felt more loved, challenged, inspired, or supported than I did over these past two months. Every rehearsal, every late-night production meeting, every shared meal, every backstage dance, every laugh, every hug, every quiet moment before places, I carry all of it so closely in my heart. 💌

At the very beginning of this process, Alex asked me what success would look like to me. One of my answers was: I want to build my community. I want to find my people.

I think I did.

Words also cannot describe how proud I am of us. Three full houses. Audiences who laughed, cried, and told us afterward how much they felt seen in the story. In just two months, we created something so much bigger than any one of us could have dreamed of.

To everyone who came to see the show, sent a message, recommended it to a friend, bought a digital ticket, or simply believed in this piece, thank you. Hearing how deeply this story resonated with you means more to me than I can ever express. That is exactly why I do what I do.

I’m still irrationally sad that we don’t have rehearsal this week. What do you mean we don’t get to do this again tomorrow? I wish we could just keep rehearsing every week and performing every weekend.

But this isn’t the end.

This is only the beginning of Wong Side of Time.

Making theatre with all of you has been my butterfly dream, and I never wanted to wake up.

Because us is what I choose. 🦋💖

Sapphic? I have no earthly idea what that means, it’s just women smoking indoors.

Wong Side of Time closed last weekend and my heart is so full admiring what this company accomplished in two short months. What a group of inspired, skilled, and thoughtful artists I have been blessed to work with! Scarlett, telling new queer stories with you never gets old. Thank you to everyone who’s supported this show as we close the SheNYC era and see what’s next. 🎙️🪷🤵‍♀️🪧🎥🍎👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩🦋🌟
