If your messaging is full of design details—the materials, finishes, specific elements you chose—but you’re not getting inquiries, this might be why.

You’re speaking as an interior designer. Your potential clients aren’t designers. They don’t necessarily know what a custom oak vanity means to a space, but they do know what it feels like to have a relaxing morning routine in a bathroom they actually love.

That’s the shift! Stop leading with what you chose and start leading with how it changes the way someone lives in their home. That’s what resonates with the person on the other side of the screen.

This is just one clip from a full conversation with @serenemktg on why you might be getting inquiries that don’t convert, and what to actually do about it. The full video is on my YouTube. Enjoy 💙💙

Saw @whiteandsalt do a branding version of this and couldn’t resist doing a marketing version.

I was born in 1993 so technically I was barely old enough to remember any of this, but hear me out: Marketing in the 90s was beautifully simple. You had billboards, print ads in magazines people actually read cover to cover, TV commercials that entire families watched together, radio spots, and direct mail that people genuinely opened.

There were no algorithms, content calendars, or “post three times a week and pray.” Just a strong message or slogan, beautiful visual or celebrity, and the right placement.

Obviously the marketing landscape is completely different now, but there’s something about that simplicity that I think about a lot. At its core, great marketing has never really changed—it’s still about a clear message that connects with the right people.

The channels are just louder and more accessible now. That said, it doesn’t have to feel complicated, even in 2026. The right strategy and marketing partner can make it feel simple 🤎
