Sam Walker came back from a syndesmosis injury in 27 days. Everyone’s talking about the speed.

The bit that mattered: the week before the prelim, he trained fully. Contact, stepping, agility. He proved he could handle the game before he played it.

Most youth athletes get cleared, then find out on game day.

Clearance is permission. Readiness is proof

We asked Physio Run Expert @serhanphysio during our recent @proformphysio visit to share his top advice for runners post-marathon. The takeaway? Rest and recover. But don’t delay your return to movement. Prioritise a post-race taper and get plenty of quality sleep.

HaltH is on a mission to unlock the world’s health funding and we get closer every day alongside our network of providers like Serhan 🔓

Here are the 4 things that were DIABOLICAL for my practice, and I'm glad I've changed them…

I'm someone who usually gets a 2-year itch, so I'm right on schedule for itch #2. This caused me to reflect…

In 4 years I've seen plenty of weird and wonderful cases, and changed A LOT about how I treat and manage people.

#1 - CHASING PERFECT POSTURE
I have a secret- when a patient says "My x hurts and I know why... I work at a desk and have terrible posture," it kills me a bit inside. THERE IS NO PERFECT POSTURE! Try sitting up straight, shoulders back, for 10 minutes straight. Things get stiff and sore sitting that way too. I care about your body being able to move BETWEEN positions. YOUR NEXT POSTURE IS YOUR BEST POSTURE. Put it on a shirt.

#2 - INSTRUCTING REHAB INSTEAD OF COLLABORATING ON IT
Lesson learnt from managing kids and a busy household. Picture a mum of 3 under 5. Let's call her Mary. Try telling Mary to set aside 30 mins a day to fix her hip… Exactly. It's not her fault. Her life doesn't let her. I'm a dad and I don't do half the stuff I'm supposed to, because I don't have time either. You need to truly understand the client. Their personality, routines, real life situations and collaborate on a solution. 100% of an average program beats 10% of a perfect one EVERY. DAY.

#3 - TAKING NON-COMPLIANCE PERSONALLY
Sometimes people won't do things. I used to think I'd programmed wrong, or hadn't educated them enough. I thought I FAILED. And sometimes, maybe I do. But sometimes people just miss a day or two. As long as fear isn't running the show, they're probably getting rehab done in their day-to-day life anyway.

#4 - DISCOUNTING MY OWN VALUE
"Give more value, Jayden." "I work in an expensive clinic." "I'm not worth $300/hour." How did I fix these thoughts? I slashed the price. Friends and family discount, referral discounts, the lot. You know what that did? Attracted bargain hunters, removed client skin in the game, and delayed their progress. I projected my money insecurities onto my clients. To their detriment.

None of these were really about technique. They were about me getting out of my own way. Relate to any of these? Tell me in the comments.

I've seen a lot of new runners lately. SYDNEY MARATHON IS CLOSE!

These are what I think are the lowest hanging fruits with biggest ROI.

You about to run your first marathon or hyrox? Watch this. Know someone who is about to? Do them a favour and send this to them.

I suck at knowing when too much is too much. I've always been so good at pushing stuff under the rug and carrying on with life, that I always just thought "I have no issues at all with my mental health".

Well recently, the rug started bulging.

If you find something useful from this, sick.

But I'm just leaving this here for future Jayden.

Lead by example.

Today was an interesting session

Usually on Tuesdays I like to do longer approach work and work on my run up and syncing that with my action

however way weather screws that up - the grounds are too soft and i tear up the ground which makes for pure footing and potential injuries.

no bueno

so instead I found intensity another way

I decided to pivot toward a weighted bowling day of a short approach

i used 2 run up distances and 2 weights contrasted against one another

9m with a 250g ball

11m with a 200g ball

The idea was to overload the system with some extra weight in the arm

develop proximal distal sequencing through the action

Chase maximum intent without slipping on crap grass, inevitably saving what today’s session was about so it aligns with my training week :)

I bowled 24 balls in the 45 mins i had before i had to pick up my son

safe to say job done!

weighted ball training is super dope and has a large array of benefits of used correctly

if you’re interested about how to use them drop me a dm and start a yarn !
