A recap from our too short trip to Yosemite this September. We mostly spent our time up in the alpine in Tuolumne but we also got to see the valley a little bit before we left early when the smoke came in from the dome fire.

These two boulders were fun 1 session climbs from a day of bouldering near Tenaya Lake. The approach is via the beach which meant we had to take a dip post climbing sesh💦🏖️

@twinfinssupply had the perfect heavy crew neck for the alpine temps 🤍 use code TSFMAYA15 for 15% off

fear is a normal response to the unknown. What will happen if I fall from the lip? Is this my last climb in good healthy standing? Is the risk worth it?

heart rate escalating. fingers sweating through chalk. Is it even safe to bail?

Watching the video back makes the fall seem so normal and simple. I was overreacting. I was weak. I should have just kept going or we wouldn’t still be under this boulder. I’m embarrassed, disappointed.

“There is no such thing as paranoia. Your worst fears can come true at any moment.”
— Hunter S. Thompson

Climbing is dangerous, but the danger has never been what’s fun about climbing for me. As I’m climbing outside more I’m resonating more with the fact, sending is a skill. The most technically advanced and powerful climber cannot send without harnessing flow state. For me, that is with the responsible embrace of the unknown.

I can do hard things.

I can do it scared.

I’m ready for this challenge.

If things don’t go to plan I trust my instincts.

I’ve built an environment that will protect me.

Failure only happens if you write your story with that ending.

Here’s to women in sports, and the people that support them ❤️

Very fun (and greasy) day up at Lincoln running around trying easier stuff. Poison Squad may be the best 8 I’ve ever done (and felt easier than brown seam). Also ran up Lonely Carpenter with some fun compression/ wide toe hook beta. Shoutout to @sp.sends for sticking with Lonely Carpenter for the hardest boulder she’s gotten up in a day!
