Okay, better later than never but I hope all of this will make up for it…

Our second record, No Hitter, was released 10 years ago last month!
I’ll write a proper reflection on the album and the decade since it came out in a few days. Today, though, I want to talk about Tylenol.

Tylenol became a bit of a cult favorite among PL heads. Track 4 off of No Hitter and a relative sleeper as far as stream counts go, Tylenol has always been our most requested song to play live. A request, as time went on and more and more music was release, we never fufilled.

The song, as far as I was concerned, would live and die on No Hitter and, though I was happy it was there, I never really felt the need to bring it back out again. Until…

A few months ago, my friends @v.eraty and @serrjesse took it upon themselves to give the old track a new life and record a new version on their own. Slowed down, reconstructed, I started to see what others were seeing in the song.

So we re-recorded it together! Pedro on drums and lead guitar and Jesse on bass. We laborious re-created the song in my hot’n’humid basement studio and at our practice space until it started to feel exciting again.

Re-working and re-releasing Tylenol felt like the best way to say thank you to everyone who cared about these lesser known tracks. The people who lent this band their time to listen to entire albums and find *their* song, no matter what the numbers or algorithms were feeding them. It isn’t always easy to do that these days.
