Our first light, as it happened.

On 24 October, we debuted our crystal chandeliers at @thevenueatfairview in Winterton, with @service.excellence.

Three matching vintage chandeliers. Twelve candle lights each. Thirty-six in one room, and hundreds of crystal elements featuring original Austrian Swarovski SPECTRA® crystal components. Transported, hung, dressed and lit by our team, then carefully taken down once the event was over.

Thank you to our partners for a beautiful first room to work in. We could not have asked for better.
LUSTRE is a fully managed crystal chandelier experience for weddings, private celebrations and corporate occasions. Send us a message to begin your LUSTRE experience. Privately quoted.

SETTING THE SCENE | When it comes to weddings and events, @muirheadshiring can take care of the full picture, from planning and florals to draping, lighting, furniture and décor hire, and setup, or step in for selected elements alongside a couple’s chosen planner or stylist.

That breadth is part of their strength.

Based in Pietermaritzburg and working across KZN, Sherree and her team bring planning, florals, décor, furniture hire, draping and lighting together with an understanding of how a room should look, feel and work on the day.

Their draping and lighting are where the room begins to change. Fabric is used with scale and confidence: gathered above tables, swept across ceilings, pulled into backdrops and lit to create warmth, shadow and drama. It can soften a venue, lift the eye and give guests that sense of arrival.

Their warehouse and showroom feels full of possibility. The Muirhead’s catalogue is bursting with furniture, lounge setups, lighting, linen, tableware and trend-forward accent pieces, giving style-savvy couples and planners the chance to browse, touch and build the look from real pieces.

A family business for 30+ years, Muirhead’s is now led by Sherree Hamblin, whose practical approach comes through in the motto: “Anything is possible – with planning.” Couples can also work with sister company @hamblinscatering, led by Chef Renzo Hamblin.

Client feedback speaks about beautiful flowers, elegant décor, overseas planning support, weather changes, calm service and a team finding solutions when plans shift.

For couples and planners wanting scale, drama and confidence behind the setting, Muirhead’s brings the room, the details and the experienced hands to help it all come together.

This is just half of what it takes to cater a 3 course plated meal for 300 people!

Hours of prep, cooking, organising, designing a menu that can be served quickly and timelessly while still looking gorgeous and tasting amazing!

It’s also about getting into a rhythm, having a system and always being on top of your game! 🧑‍🍳 AS WELL AS having a service team who is quick, efficient and also very detail oriented. That’s why we love working with @service.excellence and their incredible team!!

Well done team!!

Our menus begin with what is in season, ingredients at their best, plates full of colour, and food that feels right for the table it is served at.

A garden lunch for twenty, a wedding feast for one hundred, a long-table birthday dinner or something entirely your own: we build each menu around your occasion, your guest list and the way you want people to gather.

Tell us what you are celebrating, and we will start with the menu.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙨 & 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜

One of my favourite parts of being a live wedding painter is watching guests interact with the painting as it comes to life. 🤍

Seeing them notice familiar faces, sentimental details and little pieces of the day brings me so much joy.

Sharing what I love while capturing special memories as they are happening is what makes live painting so special.
