a two part post so that we can tag all of the wonderful creatives in this story- a (different kind of) RISO history. As told from the perspective of Hallagans, a Chicago based RISO dealer who has been lucky enough to have a front row seat to the rise of risography and a creative movement that continues to grow

Zines and patches for the furry market at @octobercafechicago this Sunday!!! 🎃

This was my first attempt at screenprinted patches so they'll be discounted! The prints themselves are very crisp and they're high quality and machine-washable, but I wanna make more where the designs are clearer against the patterns. But if you like weird artsy patches maybe you'll like these... They look really interesting in different lightings and overall I still had fun and learned a lot making them!

The zines are reprints of the two pieces I had in Fnews last year! I've sold a handful of unikitty zines so I wanted to make some of these too, especially since not everyone goes to SAIC or got the issues my comics were in! (I'll have a short comic in October's Fnews issue too!)

Many thanks to Service Bureau at School of the Art Institute of Chicago and their amazing staff for supporting Staple + Stitch with this killer print job - posters, programs, and all the things we needed to make this Fair happen. Thanks dream team!

SAIC Photo Department will be a vendor at the Fair as will the School of Visual Arts at Columbia College Chicago. These two Chicago powerhouses are vital to the art community in our city and we can’t wait to see what they have on their tables this weekend. Come out and support Chicago artists - November 15 - 17 @21chotelchicago
