This is the Brazil you don't see when you visit Rio! Our trip to a small interior Brazilian city ahead of Sunday's presidential elections here. Brazil is super urbanized and 43 percent of the population live in towns under 100,000, so places like this as a whole can sway the vote! Although it's the most divided town in the country, I left quite surprised at fatigue toward the Left. It felt like the nation's working class hero, President Lula, has lost some of the working class here. Our text and video stories are on ny times, but here are some behind-the-scenes highlights. (and yes, the punks were also right wing!)

Hoje à tarde tivemos uma experiência daquelas que a gente não espera: recebemos na DASA correspondentes do The New York Times, que estão na região conhecendo melhor as particularidades da nossa cidade e algumas das empresas que ajudam a movimentar a economia local.

Foi uma oportunidade de mostrar um pouco da nossa operação, da realidade da indústria e de tudo o que existe por trás de uma cadeia que gera trabalho, desenvolvimento e impacto para muita gente.

E eu gosto desses momentos porque eles fazem a gente olhar de outro jeito para aquilo que vive todos os dias.

Às vezes, o que já virou rotina pra gente é exatamente o que desperta curiosidade em quem vem de fora.

Muito orgulho de poder mostrar um pouco do que construímos por aqui. 🏭🌱

Some advice from Pauline Frommer for those who have to fly in the United States in the coming days.

7 months ago, an airline permanently lost my fencing gear — everything I needed to represent Team USA.

I tried every channel for help, but nothing worked… until my story reached national news. First with @sethkugel article in the @nytimes (link to article in bio) and now on the news as well.

Huge thank you to @foxnews @fox5dc for giving me a platform to speak up for athletes who rely on their equipment to compete.

Sometimes the hardest part of competing isn’t on the strip, it’s everything that happens around it.

The New York Times shared my story today (link in bio), written by Seth Kugel, about what happens when a travel system breaks down, and how even athletes preparing for Team USA can get caught in the chaos.

I was eventually reimbursed, but it took months of patience, persistence, and a whole lot of perspective.

For me, this wasn’t really about the fencing bag. It was about resilience. About focus, consistency, and getting back up when the chips are down.

I’m grateful to @nytimes and @sethkugel for shining a light on what travelers face and for telling it with fairness and humor.

For me, this experience reinforced what I already knew: how you handle things matters most.

Focus. Consistency. Integrity.
