Sunday yoga is canceled this week.

We’re working on fixing up the barn and trying to source heaters so we can make the space more comfortable for gathering through the colder months.

Yoga with Michaela will return on Sundays as we make improvements and prepare to reemerge in the spring—if not sooner. Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the mat at Glendale Farm. 🌿🧘

Meet the curators behind Form Over Function: Held Together ❤️

Sarah Hurt, founder of Seattle Art Source, and Seattle artist Seth Sexton have co-curated Form Over Function for all three years of the exhibition. This year they’ve gathered Pacific Northwest artists whose figurative work explores identity, connection, and resilience.

For Sarah, the human form has always been a point of connection between artists, collectors, and community. Seth, known for his hyper-detailed pen and ink drawings, brings the same purpose and intention to curating that guides his own practice, shaping a show that invites viewers to slow down and reflect.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Saturday’s opening reception! It was a privilege to celebrate the ten incredible artists in this year’s show with you. There’s plenty more ahead, starting with our first artist panel, “Feeling in the Doing: Pleasure, Attention and the Figure,” this Thursday, October 22, from 6 to 7 p.m. with Kelly Bjork and Becca Fuhrman, RSVP via the link in our bio. Studio visit with @a_scherer_ 🎨✨

We recently visited the studio of Amy Scherer, a returning artist in this year's Form Over Function exhibition, for the first stop in our new studio visit series featuring the artists of the show.

Amy's work centers on the human figure, with many pieces inspired by historic photographs and family memories that make each painting feel deeply personal and emotionally connected.

We're so excited to have her work back in the gallery this fall.

Kade's work explores identity and intimacy from a queer perspective, with intimate moments and gestures rendered in glowing, vivid color.

Seth and I recently visited the studio of one of this year's new Form Over Function artists, Michael Doyle🎨✨

Michael is a self-taught, Seattle-based painter and illustrator who's been at it for twenty years, painting figures inspired by classic cinema, old books, and Pacific Northwest textures in acrylic gouache. He calls his style a "wink and nod" to something slower and more human.

Michael's studio in Seattle’s Denny Park neighborhood was a treat to visit and peek into his creative world.

So excited to welcome his work to the gallery this fall.
