reminiscing my brief stint larping as a clothing designer. hope i have time next year for more projects 😩

reversible, transformable vest/tote with modular double pocket cargo pouch. brushed nylon(?) outer, cotton canvas(?) interior

modular pouch idea ripped from a hender scheme backpack. can attach to the outside and the inside. mixed feelings on how it turned out tho

wanted to add details to the upper chest area but got lazy 😅

as a tote (exterior)

original intended tote side (interior/reversed). modular pouch and zipper removed

toile with mesh inspired by fishing vests

first draft had a flat pouch on the inside which was supposed to be the actual tote side but people said they liked the outer better 😭😭

What an enjoyable and informative week in Toronto ☀️

• Visited The Esplanade and learned more about the amazing work being done by @jamiiesplanade

• Had a little swan time in High Park

• Saw the gorgeous @contactphoto group show co-curated by @wearethenewotherto & @steffitung at @918bathurst; also learned about an important moment in local media

• Checked out @sew_rite_studio’s mega-inspiring space

• Had a time celebrating the start of Pride with @jewelsbyalan & @daviddunkleyhat

A few examples of how I would wear these pieces. Different shoe options can change the feel of an outfit quite a bit. Here I’ve rotated some classic Stan Smiths, Saltwater slides and a cotton pair of Maryjane’s. FERRIS pieces featured: Dream Summer Skirt, Box Tank, Gingham Sundress and the Liesel Pant in RR stripe. @torontomet and @thecreativeschl is pleased to announce a $1.5 million gift from The Edward and Suzanne Rogers Foundation in support of The Suzanne Rogers Fashion Institute.

Since launching in 2016, the SRFI has played a vital role in supporting Fellows both in Canada and abroad. Many have gone on to launch their own labels, win international design competitions, showcase their work at international fashion weeks, receive advanced degrees at renowned fashion programs, and work for global fashion houses.

We are deeply grateful for @suzannerogerstoronto visionary support, which has enabled the SRFI to operate and empower emerging designers for a decade.

For the past 2 years, you would’ve found me seated on the right side of this table. Alexis behind her sewing machine, crafting or amending a garment for a client.

Between 6pm-11pm we would chat (or cry) about our dreams and confront our failures/shortcomings.
Alexis shared her laughter, her love for poetry and writing and always entertained my questions on shapes, craftsmanship, friendship, love and plants.

Here’s to your next chapter my friend 🫂❤️
