Well we had the absolute best day at SewFizzTeaCated yesterday with @surreysews what a fun way to spend a Saturday!

So many talented sewists in their beautiful fabrics and creations, so much chat and everyone is so friendly, everyone happily going around pawing each other's outfits 😂 I've come away with some new friends and my cheeks hurt from smiling! It was great to see some familiar faces too. Particularly @melaniekeane who is always hostess with the mostess and it's always a joy to see her beaming face.

I had been rushing to get a new dress done for the event but after a few issues with the neck line I let go of the idea and wore the lovely McCall's dress i made last year (I posted it so the pattern number is in here!) I got loads of compliments and actually the other one was sleeveless and as the chill has definitely set in now, I probably would've froze! I wore my trusty Nova coat by Pappercut Patterns with it. I really enjoyed wearing them.

What a lovely weekend. Bit of camping and a bit of sewing! 👍🌟 I’ve had this fabric in my cupboard since 2020. Definitely time to cut into it! I’ve had a good old sort out and am now have plans for most of my fabrics! I’m not sure what this fabric is .. it’s like a stiff cotton lawn .. creases like crazy though. Pattern is from a Japanese sewing book and one of my favourite patterns. Dress E if anyone has this book. #sewover50july @sharesewover50

My project for #BlueThreadsForME
This is an incredible challenge set up by Lisbeth @lisbethmakes and @tuesdayschildfabrics to raise awareness of the extremely debilitating condition, M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis).
I checked and some blue was allowed so here’s my bag and I’ve made a donation.💙
It’s the bow bag by @sewoveritlondon - imo it’s a great sized clutch bag (plenty of room for my mobile, lip stick and tissues).
I’d seen the one Dee @sewing_cinderella made and thought it would be perfect to go with my dress for the Sewn at Midnight Gala. This is being hosted by Bianca @beesilva.events this Saturday in Manchester.
I had just enough scraps left over from my dress to make the bag and I added the wrist strap in case I need both hands (thinking drink and food?…🤓).
I’m saving the dress for reveal here until after Saturday so you’ll have to be all in suspense until then!
I really hope that Lisbeth raises lots of money for @actionform.e who do lots of work to fund research, campaigns for better care for sufferers of M.E.
If you’ve not managed to make something blue, maybe you could consider making a donation for this worthwhile cause.

Zero Waste Basket - Pattern Tester versions, ahead of the release this Friday 1st May.

I had a number of testers, checking my grammar and the construction process. It was a useful and informative process - thank you testers for your time and makes.
.
1. Helen's cord and cotton standard basket. No interfacing.
2. Sara's three standard baskets all made from 2x21" squares, with small remnants.
3. Lucy's standard basket, perfect for sewing supplies.
4. Amy added handles to make a carrier for moving craft supplies around the house - amazing idea! Instructions are included for making handles out of the same fabric.
5. Helen used the cutest quilting fabric to make a drawstring version.
6. Angelika made a gingham drawstring version for her first ever zero waste sewing project.
7. Dee was quick to make a Button & Loop pouch, which was the perfect size for a boxed gift!
8. Lucy's Button & Loop is finished with a cute sparkly button.
